Favorite Whiskey?

Haven't you seen Brewster's Millions?

 

I enjoy a blended japanese whiskey a lot. Nikki from the barrel. Neat, no ice, no water, just sweet sweet whiskey. Goes with pretty much everything. And for those other days, Don Julio 1942 Tequila! Both a homage to the Japanese brand made in Mexico truck I love.

 

I've got a bottle of the Nikka I brought back from overseas. Never cracked it because I don't like scotch...or single malts, but hey, now I'm intrigued.

 

I always picture some arrogant rich dude with his million dollar bottle. He cracks it with his equally crooked friends...and after the first shot, the FBI busts in the door, and hauls him out for some financial crimes committed over a period of 20 years. Yeah, I've been watching "Billions", LOL. Meanwhile, I'm scraping together couch change, for just one more bottle of Coopers Craft and the only person knocking on my door is the crazy lady from down the street who thinks I'm cute...or something like that, lol (she's missing a tooth).

 

Yeah, I wasn't too into single malts at first. I found this to be a great gateway whiskey. It isn't what you would expect. Good luck!

You wouldn't expect Scotch to have so many Japanese characters on the label!

 

Thanks! I’m not really in a super rush it’s been kinda fun collecting them. If you do see an N I need the second N the one with the ‘ after it. Of course it’s a little different and the horse is in a different configuration of course. Again no worries I don’t mind keeping an eye out. I’ve found Blanton’s easier to find lately for some reason.

 

Definitely a great idea! I have everyone of those bottles kicking around too. Maybe I should do the same. How did it go!???

 

Some were good and some were better.

I personally think the JD10 is still the standout. The 1924 was also very good.

Rebel 10 fine but underwhelming for the price.

 

I found them first at a fantastic store in Louisville - Neat, I highly recommend the shop and bar if you are there. Liked both quite a bit - nothing jaw dropping but good solid $35 pours.

 

Gonna give this one a go tonight

 

Currently my number one favorite pour.
