My tailgate won't open and my Trifold Tonneau is locked in place. Is there a way to open the tonneau without destroying it? Kind of an emergency...

I've watched all the videos on YouTube, and done all the google searches. I can't find this info anywhere! I don't want to destroy my tonneau.

EDIT: Problem solved. Removed the bolt on the front passenger side corner, pried it up and used a broom handle and flashlight to reattach the rod to the handle.

Can’t you just get a wire or something to go between the tailgate and tonneau to grab the handle?

The tonneau goes below the top of the tailgate, so you have to pry up the tonneau to get access, and I think the upward pressure stops the clasp from popping... I have put a wire in there and pulled the handle, its not lifting!

Any idea why the tailgate is not opening? I assume it’s locked and you can’t get it unlocked?

I installed a pop n lock today, and I don't know if its the lock isn't working, or the rod that goes from the handle to the latch isn't working, but I believe it's the rod, because I can hear the lock working, and I've used the key and it seems to be working.

I hope this is a joke...?

If you can use the key and unlock it… when why cant you do that and open it?

I believe the rod that attaches to the side is detached, so the left side will disengage, but the right wont...

I got that cover opened! PITA but it's done. Used a piece of suspension wire for ceiling grid.

    1) Prop left side up to insert wire and locate latch. Make sure to bend a few times to resemble your fingers grasping the handle.

    2) Use opposing arm to pop opposite side open and onsert material (me a flashlight) to keep elevated.

    3) Return to hanger and latch side and pull latch. Now, it won't want to open because of the tension from the other side so SLAP that puppy right on the latching point.

    BOOM
