My decision to go with refillable filters was intentional to allow me to buy bulk resin.

It’ll be interesting when that 0 turns to 1.

    Edit: because I’m a dumb_ss…

    Dalton NH!

I’m in NH, the other side of the river is Gilman VT. Interestingly, the VT border starts at the VT side of the river’s edge, not halfway into the river.

I know it well, beautiful spot. Some roads have spectacular views of the Presidentials parallel to none

Speaking of the Presidentials, I intended to post these from our last significant snow back on March 24th (Rt 115A Jefferson Meadows):
Not zoomed IMG_6927.jpg The taller of the two here is Mt Boy (Bois) a foothill separated from the range and on the North side of US Rt.2 whereas the range is on the South. The Mt Boy trail is open to the public but it begins by going through private properties and is kind of weird. Years ago it had a nice view on a ledgr at 650 ft or so
IMG_6934.jpg The first peak on the left is Mt Madison and the other is Mt Adams. Mt Adams has several other peaks but I’m just sticking with the major mountains. Same goes for the entire range.
    IMG_6933.jpg
Mt Adams and Mt Jefferson. The spectacular ravine is Castle Ravine. Fun fact- there’s a seasonal parking lot up on the side of Jefferson that makes reaching the summit only a 2.5 hike. Search Caps Ridge Trail.
IMG_6932.jpg Mt Jefferson and Mt Washington. The ravine coming off Washington at the 5:00 position is the Amonoosoc Ravine
IMG_6931.jpg Mt Washington and Mt Eisenhower wrap up the snow covered peaks (aka above tree line. There’s Mt Munroe between Washington and Eisenhower but it’s not showing from this vantage point. You can just make out the Mount Washington Observatory at the peak.

When conditions are JUST RIGHT, I can see the White peaks of the Presidentials from the summit of the local ski hill in Dover VT.
I used to be able to see Mt. Washington from my bedroom window. But that was many years ago. I rode my motorbike up there the week after last spring floods.
Still have friends in the area.

Picked this up today from a friend to try and straighten for him. Don’t know how it got bent, doesn’t have enough power to do it itself and he bought it this way.

The TDS meter is a way cool idea, great way to monitor your filter life.

Evening guys. It was a good day. @StayinStock requested pics so

    upload_2024-5-30_19-8-21.jpg

I removed the factory front sight, a bead post that covered a 12” circle at 100 yds. I installed a set of XS Sights aperture rear and a white stripe front post. The iron sights are backups to the Holosun red dot which works a lot better.

I had planned on removing the buckhorn rear and install a barrel blank in its place but discovered they buggered up the dovetail at the factory when they installed it. I tried to clean up the edges with a dovetail file but couldn’t get the blank to go in enough to tap it in place.

That’s my first and only problem with the new Ruger/Marlin. Guess I’ll contact Ruger and see if they will repair it under warranty. If not I’ll let a real gunsmith work on it.

The stock also needs to be cut down some. It’s about 13.5” length of pull now, 12-12.5” would feel a lot better for quick mounting and working the action.
