Hey friends. I need a summer meetup. What are we doing? Let's do something. With or without beer. Preferably with, but who knows. We could host a crab party at our place in Elkton, park all the fun tacos in the back? Or a taco party with Tacos. I don't know. Something.

 

We did the PE during their Christmas dealio this past year. It was a train ride, bald eagle spotting, and multi-course meal. I'll be honest, the food was borderline Denny's quality, but the sights through the gorges and the eagle spotting out back were gorgeous

 

I never ordered food on train rides, wife & I usually stop for breakfast along the way. Yea the PE sights are beautiful.

 

We didn't intend to, but it was part of the package for the North Pole train ride thingy

 

I love the Potomac Eagle scenery. Definitely a must do ride.

 

We have floated/fished/camped on that river and in that area, its beautiful through Hangin Rock.

 

Yesssss. There seemed to be a few islands thar might be fun for mid-trip camping

 

@fatfurious2 just went camping deep in the WV backwoods last weekend and didnt send me the invite early enough or i would have gone

So now, saturday i’m going where he went last weekend lol

Camped at FR18 near Thomas WV. Super nice meadow, light offroad to get there. It's basically in Blackwater Falls State Park.

I also went into MD today on 2 wheels. I like going to the Catoctin aqueduct near Frederick. Mostly shaded, and has a couple small walking trails.

Then made my way close to Gambrills State Park. I forgot non-Maryland residents have to pay $5 to go in. I never have cash, so I turned around and went into the Frederick watershed a bit, before stopping for gas in Thurmont, and then heading home.

 

Very nice! I miss my motorcycle....

Maybe another day down the road...

That said, looks like a lovely camping area!

Id go again. But I don't like the Corridor H/48 from Wardensville. And neither does my transmission

 

I'll be out exploring WV on my bike this weekend. No destination, just plan on getting lost on some gravel & dirt "roads".

 

A CSX worker that rides SxS's told me that you can ride Low Line from my area down to Romney. He rides it from Romney up to Paw Paw with his friends to go to Big & Tinys for lunch. My dog & I rode it to Springfield WV last year but that was as far as we went. He also told me there's a abandoned train tunnel along the way. You ever hear anything?

No sir, i had no idea it went that far but that sounds like an absolute blast!!

 

The abandoned tunnel near PawPaw? I want to check that out, as well as trying the wings at Big& Tinys.
