    Question for Manual Tacoma owners:

I recently purchased a 2019 Manual Tacoma and it has been amazing so far. I noticed something while driving that I'm hoping is normal. Sometimes when I'm accelerating in first or second gear I can feel some slip. It normally happens when I'm turning while accelerating. It also definitely feels way more like it's traction control related instead of clutch slip. It could also be an issue of me letting out the clutch a little too early and getting some lurch.

Have any of you long time 3rd gen tacoma owners noticed this?

    Thanks!

The rear end is light. If you tap a little harder, you would likely see the TCS light flashing.

Most times, you are more likely to see clutches slipping in the top gears, 5th and 6th, under full load.

I've experienced something similar in both of my 2nd and now in my 3rd gen when they're not quite completely warmed up. There's a particular stop sign a few minutes from my house that I will often notice some "slip" pulling away from. Always chalked it up to the truck not being warm enough for my usual clutch drop. That's the closest thing I've ever noticed, might be what you're describing. Seems perfectly normal at this point, put 350k on 2 different stock 2nd gen clutches. My 3rd gen has almost 40k, the clutch still feels brand new.

What is mileage of your 2019 Tacoma? Did check out condition of transmission gear oil, or change it out? Suppose to be GL-4, SAE 75w-90 synthetic gear oil, if you going to replace it.:D
