Thanks for the insight! The super 73 is only 1600 on marketplace which is super intriguing. I like the idea of mostly throttle with the option to pedal.

I’ve looked at the yuba spicy curry, rad power rad wagon and specialized global haul. I think the global haul checks most of the boxes….the super 73 seems more fun though haha. We dont have kids, just a dog haha so human transport is minimal. We will see, I need to test ride one haha

Built a 2x4 MTB rack that holds 3 bikes. Wider spots on the outside for bigger tires and smaller on the inside for a skinner tire. Angled cuts to fit the bed perfect, even with the maxtrax at the front of the bed. Still needs one more coat of paint tomorrow, but it turned out pretty sweet!

Anybody damage a rear triangle from a crank arm flexing into it from a fall or is that bad luck? Asking for a friend.

In case anyone is looking to add a 4th gen taco to their stable, sounds like the OEM hitch is wider and isn’t accommodating some rack hitch pins.

i noticed this with my 3rd gen when i got my used 1up. the guy i bought it from had a 2021 or 2022 3rd gen and mine is a 2019. both were trd offroads. he had a spacer that worked on his hitch, but my hitch was too wide for the spacer to work. the hitch pin is pretty much locked into place when i use my 1up though because i pull it out as far as i can with the hitch pin lock thing still in there.

Some of that could potentially be associated to OE hitch availability for Toyota during COVID production. My 2017 is that same as yours, no spacer needed for my 1Up hitch pin even though it came with one.

I think must folks in here are experienced and wouldn’t be a huge hurdle. Just thought the info on the new truck might be worth the PSA to the crew.

I’ve been working 50’s the past few weeks since classes ended. and summertime valet I’m jogging/fast walking 15 miles a shift and my knees have been struggling. Might have to go get another injection if I want to be able to ride my bike 2x a week and work. More excuse to get the bikepark pass I suppose.

Wish I could just spend 5 grand and magically have cartilage back in my knees lol

If it’s only $5k, sign me up. 19 years post knee reconstruction myself. Torn MCL/ACL, medial meniscus removed (what was left of it). Post op instructions were to stay fit and active to minimize the discomfort (medical term for pain) I’d be enduring the rest of my life.

NBD yesterday, my first gravel bike, first bike with carbon wheels and wireless (AXS) shifting. First road bike with discs. Trying to decide if I need/want a dropper.
    IMG_9970.jpg

Back when I started riding motorcycles in the ‘70’s , they called this kind of riding “cow trailing”. I turned around here as the trail beyond the gate is more fun with suspension, in fact for me it would be unrideable on this bike. But the Spesh Diverge with the Future Shock headset is pretty plush for my old bones. Now I just need to get used to climbing with a 40-52 [EDIT: it’s 40-50] granny gear compared to 30-51 on my Ripley.

That "friend" i asked about was myself.

Thought id have a NBD in the near future, guess not. Rear chain-stay for my bike is in stock and should be here in a two weeks after a fall Wednesday. Wasnt expecting that due to their flash sale on all the status 160s lately.

Pics or it didnt happen right? Crank arms flexed into the chain-stay from hitting a rock while going down

    IMG_9911.HEIC.jpg

Now all these pictures below are of the bike when its upside down with the bars and seat on the ground. No cracks from what i can see, only a cosmetic 'dent'.

Follow up: Got to put it in action today on a 30ish minute highway ride to the trail. Works perfect!

@SnuggleTruck I love the stickers in the bed. I thought I was the only one to do that (old bike, several years ago at Gooseberry Mesa in Utah). But I took off the outside TRD stickers.

Nice! Whenever I go somewhere new I always try to find a good sticker. It’s about full now after the past 4.5 years though.

I'm more likely to get an e-cargo bike or an e-bike commuter than I am to get an electric mountain bike. Although putting a helmet on to get groceries seem a lot more hassle than getting in the truck
Is the cow pic the exit gate out of Mailboxes to head back into campus?

That’s the one. I just did a quick ride on campus and rode over to the top of the gate from Empire Grade. Not quite ready to ride ****boxes on a gravel bike. In fact I always take the Chicken detour anyway on my mountain bike.

I actually love the route from Wilder and into campus. At my age, I don't even try MB anymore and go the route you do (we call it P***y Mailbox). As a matter of fact, the last time I rode down OG MB, I was still on my old 26" Turner RFX (back when I was young and had more testosterone). I'm no longer willing to risk injury these days.

Just got my first bike in probably 15 years a couple months ago.

Went the cheap route with a gt avalanche from dicks. Thought I would start looking through here to start learning more about bikes.

So far I have done raceface grips, reverse pedals, WTB seat, WTB trail boss tires, and a wolf tooth 32t chain ring to go 1x9. Any feedback is appreciated, I feel like the bike can handle anything I am able to do on it.
