There are other brands/versions as well using different twist-loc mechanisms as well as some that look to be copies like this. The quality seems to be up to par anyway.

I’d get the longer nipple in this scenario. I have the short one and once didn’t get my hose on securely. It popped and spewed for about 5 seconds before I realized it and fixed it.

I have the long neck, and the hose connection barely covers the tip.

Make sure the connection is fully pushed into the nipple lip and tug to make sure it doesn’t come off easily.

As I type this I’m thinking dirty things…but you guys know what I mean! lol

They offer the MH10 brass adapter which provides a stepped and barbed hose mount surface.

do you find the long nipple too low and at risk of damage? The short nipple model is out of stock everywhere

The long nipple sits well above the TRD skid.

There’s photos on this thread somewhere.

Are you just slipping a hose onto the nipple or are you using one of the two hose connectors they offer? I have the brass fitting and it clips onto the very end and can remain on there. I also have the plastic, two of them actually, and one split over time and no longer retains itself on the valve nipple. MH-10 is the way to go.

Took mine off and replaced with a valvomax. It flows better and I like the design idea more.

Yep, I started with that but found when I pulled the tubing off the socket would stay with the tube. Not a problem but eventually the plastic split at the connection point with the valve. They now offer that metal socket and it's on a whole different level. Very secure fit and not apt to split like the plastic. Not expensive either. But for those who don't even use a tube this wouldn't even be a consideration.

I have the hk-3/8. But only use the straight nipple. At the time, they only sold the complete kit. I didn't like the included tubing, and instead cut up my motivx oil filter drain tube. It's a silicone tube that's more chemical resistant and lots more flexible

I’m just using a length of 3/8 air hose. It’s semitransparent so I can see oil movement.

I never had one before and did the one without any nipple and it works pretty amazing.

Anyone rig up a magnet somewhere to catch the crap that the plug used to collect? ….maybe on the pan or filter drain?

that would only work if you remove the pan every single time to remove the stuff the magnet collects.

really though, just bring the truck up to temp. oil at temperature will hold the particles in suspension, which will allow it to drain out of the pan normally.

i gave up on magnetic drain plugs, far too much hassle for minimal benefit.

About 15 minutes, depending on your definition of "drain". I call it good when the droplet rate has reduced to 1 drop of oil per 1-2 seconds. That's for 5W-30 oil, after running the engine to full warm operating temp (about 10 miles, half of which is highway driving at 65 mph,) then waiting 15 mins after engine shut-off before opening the Fumoto valve. (I figure it's best to wait at least 15 mins for a good amt of oil to drain down out of the engine block, but still be pretty hot.)

My recent experience at the Dover AFB Auto Hobby Shop was rather quick...considering I try to complete task within the hourly rate.

Maybe 5 minutes from the time I opened the Fumoto valve for droplets to form.

Could be that I have my truck on a lift...oil gushes out rather quick.

If you want to drain more oil then wait longer, that goes for with or without a valve since you are waiting on the pump, oiled surfaces and passages to drain back to the pan. A plug will drain the pan a few minutes faster but another cup and a half can come out. I’ll have to repeat this to verify but letting it drain overnight there wasn’t any spillage from the filter when I spun it off in the morning rather than the usual mess when I do it right after the pan is first drained. I suspect an hour might suffice but I ran out of daylight. That alone would sell me on waiting however long it takes.
