It's not that I don't think they eventually will end up with radiused platforms, but I think it's unlikely until they start production of ships and boosters. They're already talking about moving the fins, making ships taller, and redesigning the hot stage ring. Any of which could create interference with an encircling scaffolding setup. That leads to waste of time and money retrofitting. And in the end it doesn't give them much benefit. They need a good amount of access to 1 side for the heat shield, and they already have that in the high bays. We may see something like the VAB eventually, but not likely until starship in in actual production.

When you're talking deep space, the platforms do allow you to still have man lifts, we're talking jlg 60's not 120 and 180's. They also allow you to have plentiful tether points, as well as the infrastructure to keep your area controlled. No lookey Lou's coming through. They would have access control monitors at every platform, you would show up, id yourself, present your work order who would call it in to the Vab Flow manager. No constraints to proceed? Ok let's go. That way you know it wasnt a nosy janitor sniffing around on 3rd shift who knocked over a critical item.

I've been in facilities where SpaceX has platforms. Maybe the work doesn't require them ok, but they don't use them.

Agreed, not soon but eventually and because of the high cadence needed only do semicircular(or less) platforms allowing for more rapid ship egress. Turntables which they already use for welding could generate the necessary 360 access. I didn’t mean exactly like the VAB but more in that direction than what they currently use.

Pete and Alan definitely would’ve had more fun than John and Charlie if 12 was a J mission…

I haven't, but past raptor ruds took less than a week to get the stand back up and running (couple of days iirc). This is what the stand was designed to do. Test engines and endure Ruds without major issues.

I heard yesterday that Everyday Astronaut is getting another tour of SpaceX's Starbase production facilities. Any ideas where he mentioned that? Or what the timeline is? I assume after IFT-4...
