I know this is an old post, but I travel for work and have a 23 sr 4x4 v6 with oversized tires and I tow a 15ft Bushwacker travel trailer (about 3200# I think) about 30,000 miles per year through the mountains of Appalachia, mostly on up and downs through the mountains, keep it in manual-shift mode and at about 4500 rpm's on 50% uphills.

Doing great so far. Have 25k on the truck currently and had it since July last year.
