Took the FZ1 out for a rip today to test out the quick shifter. Just had to stop a couple times to adjust the kill time but that’s it. Everything ran smoothly and the 16/45 gearing is working great. Almost want to put the 47 rear on but I will wait for a while longer. 60mph now is 4500rpm and 70 is about 5200rpm, redline is 12,300. Did one pull to redline through 3rd and was going just over 100 so plenty fast for me. The new ECU flash has the bike running much better.

Right right. Funny thing. I picked up the new 2024 Dirt bike magazine, dual sport buyers guide last night. Just read an article on them.

    found the on line article.

Noice. I've had several of those, an absolute weapon on the track. There's a reason the R6 dominated supersport for so many years. Pretty miserable on the street for anything except spirited riding. Doesn't make power until about 12,000, and likes to be kept above that. But it'll eat up corners. Come with any goodies besides that ridiculously tall windscreen?

Not that it matters for this post, but I have a 1984 Moto Morini Sei V2
Bought it from Hermy Baver out of Port Clinton PA. I had to wait for it to cross the ocean. Goes like a good 250, but a lot more grunt. It's red ;-)
    It's in parts atm. Redo.......

At the price, Those new ones look sweet!

Awesome stuff! Sucks there isn’t anyone in Charlotte to work on bikes with. @Fulton246 is way north of me. Which we need to hit diamondback this year!

Evening all. Been away from TW for a while. Promotion at work and dealing with some personal issues has either kept me super busy or unmotivated to do much. Good news is got all that sorted out and decided to treat myself and figured this was the best place to make my comeback. Picked this little guy up today.

Thanks fellas! Super excited to get some miles on it. Already stripped off a lot of the reflectors and the hideous license plate mount. Got a bunch of parts in my cart, but I have to restrain myself. Plan is to keep it mild but slim down the profile.

Already hit an unintentional wheelie with it so that’s always fun. Haha.

If I had a monkey vs my 2014 OG Grom, I probably would of kept it, those monkeys are bitchin.

Speaking of mini bikes. I rode a coworkers brand new 2023 z125 Pro yesterday for a bit to bed the brakes in and make sure things were functioning proper. OH MY GOD IT WAS GUTLESS. It's been a long time since I rode my OG Grom stock but I never remember it being that slow, looking at the numbers it would seem like the groms/monkeys are 15-25% more HP stock, and compared to my last ride before I sold my modded 164cc Grom that z125 didn't hold a candle.

Also the z125 had a really weird seated position, felt like you were on top of the bike.

Congrats! I also got a promotion, and then I promptly took a week off! (Jk, already had the vacation planned. Didnt know the promotion would come that quick.)
I didnt go anywhere for vacation. Sucks.

But went for a ride today with my friend, and now Im almost at 9800 miles. Not too bad for 2.5 years. Bike is good, but feels like I need to change the oil. You know how you can feel it? Anyways it feels rough. I might switch to synthetic this time around. I was enjoying those $55 dino oil changes though.

Also I figured out that I can run regular 87 gas in the bike. So now my $9 will do the same range as $13 with premium. Guess ill try to pocket that savings and apply to the oil change.

anyways, bike was looking extra thicc today

Dumped my bike on a small burm yesterday, didnt get hurt, had to drag the bike to pick it up again on the hill, no lights, no cluster, no starter. I'm alone and an hour walk back to my truck.

I was stupid lucky, was able to bump start it down the hill.

Ended up just being a fuse, getting working on my tool kit. I have some small things, but need fuses and hex keys.

I'm headed out to pick up a kit and going out again tomorrow!

Put 25 miles on the monkey today putting around my little town. I live in the foothills so lots of sweeping curves and inclines. Found out it’ll only do 32 mph on the main road coming up the hill, but a solid 55 going down. Still had a blast. May have to hit up a couple of you guys for mod advice. Sprocket change, intake, exhaust and ecu are most likely coming. I also noticed that the brakes are terrible on the monkey. I may be spoiled because the LRS has really good brakes so it’ll take some getting used to- just need to adjust my follow distance. For now I’m doing a bunch of the aesthetic changes. Lights, bars and grips. I’ll probably make my own seat because I’m not super impressed with what’s out there. Debating reusing the original upholstery to keep the plaid look.
I’m not mad at the suspension surprisingly. I know @spencermarkd , I followed along when you did your grom suspension updates and I already had it in my mind that I was going to follow suit and copy everything you did, but I don’t mind how it rides for now. That may change as I get used to it but it’s moved down the list of priorities for me. I’ll hit you up when I get there. Haha.

Was also smiling like an idiot the whole time and got waves and thumbs ups from fellow riders so it was a great day.
