Has anyone tried using a very low VAS sub in the rear door? Without cutting or putting a bunch of wet fiberglass in the door, are there any options around this?

I have kappa perfect 6.5 component drivers in the back and they have way less bass response than the stock non JBL speakers even on an amp.

They didn’t design those to have much bass response, as they are 6.5” components, probably intended to be run with a subwoofer in the system.

the response only goes down to around 45hz so this is to be expected. They are power hungry as well so running them on a normal 50w amp may not be doing them justice.

as for putting a sub in the rear doors, I think it’s way more trouble than it’s worth. Put a shallow mount 10” behind the rear seat and call it a day.
