My 2015 prerunner 2.7L 4-speed auto just hit 60K and i want to do a transmission fluid change. I have watched pretty much all the how-to videos available but they're all for the ones with the refill and overfill plugs. My taco doesn't seem to have those. I see there's a drain plug and a dipstick. I'm a weekend DIYer and just wondering if I can just drain the through the drain plug on the pan (see attached pictures) and refill through the dipstick line? Any help/guidance would be sincerely appreciated.

    Have a blessed one y'all.

All the vehicles I've ever had with transmission dipsticks I've filled from the dipstick.

Yes yours has the A340E transmission, you check/fill that one at the dipstick.

The A750E/F behind the 4.0L has check/fill plugs.

A small funnel will make it easier to fill thru the dipstick tube

I have a 4 banger auto as well, 2009. Has 74.000 k...I have done drain and fill. I do it when the tranny is cold. Drain out fluid from the pan, measure it and return the same amount of new fluid through the trans dip stick..Simple old school, works for me...When it hits 100k I will drop the pan and do a fluid and filter change...

Thank you all for your quick response. Going to drain and refill it this coming weekend.
