    Hi.

Recently put some Icon RXT's on my 2015 double cab. When torquing I put the diff on the jack and then put them at ~89 ft lbs.

Now I'm getting a lot of squeak-age. What should I do? Loosen the eye bolts a bit, drive over some speed-bumps and re-torque?

    Its very annoying.

Where was your squeak from? The leaf spacers, the eyes?

So that's the rubber in the eye on the shackles or what?

Guys have been greasing the shackle bolts before installation to help with squeaking from those areas. I've been meaning to do it myself since I did not do this when I installed my RXT's earlier this year. I believe there are also greasable shackle bolts that one can buy, although pricey.

I would spray mine with Liquid Wrench. Between the leafs and on the shackles and it would stop the squeaking for a couple days, then it would return. I've been using WD40's white lithium grease spray and the squeaking calmed down enough for me not to care much. It still squeaks, but not nearly as bad.

My passenger side RXTs started squeaking after a trip on the Mojave Road. I disassembled the pack, cleaned the leafs and isolators then rubbed a light film of Super Grease between them. Also did the driver side, too. Been silent ever since.

I wonder what the OEM does to keep them so quiet... They must be using some kind of Mexican Japanese polymers & metals that we don't have up here in America.

I’m probably going to go back to OEM springs with lift blocks and air bags because the squeaking on these is ridiculous…

The Icon leaf springs are not very high quality imo… I live in San Jose CA area where cars never rust and my springs are bleeding rust for some reason… Add the noise which is coming from raw metal on metal rubbing… They did not put any interface material between the top two springs which is where my issues are coming from… Perhaps one spring has too much arch or wasn’t deburred idk.

^They all (OEM, OME, Icon...) squeak once dirt gets in between the leafs. Get two rolls of Speedway leaf liners P/N 91033038-BLK I have these in my RXTs and they've been quiet after 5 years of wheeling.

I've had the rxt leaf's on for 2.5 years and haven't heard a squeak yet. Don't know if it makes a difference but i spray them twice a year with Boeshield T-9... doesn't attract dirt/dust as much as Fluid Film.

When I adjusted my Icon's from Option 2 to Option 1, I installed bicycle tubing between the leafs. I haven't heard squeaking since. That was a few months back and the longest so far I've gone without hearing squeaking. Hope it continues.

When I took all the leafs apart, I was surprised to see where the rubbing was occurring. Definitely some hot spots here and there.
