    I would also probably set that little switch on the crossover down to the lowest setting. That's how mine are and they're just right

    what standard does metra follow? automotive, white=negative, or low voltage electrical, black=negative?

    otherwise the same thing, just posting my alternative diagram if seeing the bigger picture makes any more sense.

    For their speaker harnesses,
    White = pos
    Black = neg

    Hard to tell for sure. You can just plug it in to test everything before actually mounting the speakers and all that

    So I’m thinking of doing the kicker key now. While I’m in there what should I add to be able to add a sub amp in the future. Or can/should I run a 5 channel amp and not add the sub just yet?

    All comes down to your end goal.

    the key’s main selling points are size and the auto-eq. The ease of installation is also super simple because there’s not really much wiring that has to happen. And it can very easily be installed with a subwoofer in mind down the road.

    for a 5 channel amp, there will be a more in-depth installation. Nothing crazy, but more work and more parts.
    You will often get more power and a better s/n ratio, but you won’t get the auto-eq so you’ll either want to add a DSP, or you’ll be quite limited on your tuning capabilities.

    as for adding a sub to the key, they actually make it really easy.
    Instead of cutting off the RCA tips on the key input harness, just leave them on and military splice your redwolf harness into it.

    then you can just plug RCA cables into that and run it back to your sub amp.

    Military splice? Assuming tap off the rcas?
    Which rcas would I future utilize for the sub amp?
    Also I bought a 8ga amp kit with fuse but would I need that for this little amp?

    IMG_4885.jpgWould I be pulling signal from the fronts for the future sub amp? So I would just t-tap the wires for that and the rears I would cut the rcas and splice into those as normal?

    also will the 8ga power wire be sufficient for both keys down the road or will I need a thicker power wire once I add the key for the sub?

    You’d use front RCA’s for sub. The rear channels from the radio are crap for bass.

    8awg is overkill for the key. You’d use that for amps in the 800w RMS range.
    Scosche ICAK12 is $11 on Amazon and perfect for the key.

    As for a military splice,
    Yep! Leave the front RCA tips and tap into those wires, and you can cut the rears off.

    for the 8awg, it’s probably enough depending on the sub you add down the road
    BUT
    It’s not going to the right place.

    if your key is going in the dash, your sub amp will likely be under the seat or behind the back seat. So no use running thick wire into the dash for the key if you can’t use it for the sub

    Hopefully final question. Should I or do I need to leave the blue wire accessible for the sub amp?

    When doing a system like this if I were to run new wires from amp to the speakers what would be a reasonable gauge wire to use ? thank you in advance for any help.

    18 is plenty for the key. some people running larger amps (100w+ per channel) run 16 or even 14. Not necessary unless you’re building something big

    Not sure about that long skinny one off the top of my head. The one in the back with all of the white/black wires is all grounds

    Hello all. Can the average person hear the difference between an amp with a Signal to Noise ratio of 70 db vs an amp with a signal to noise ration of 100 db ? thank you for your time and help.

    Depending on the brand, that number may not even be accurate. Any cha ce you can post the models you’re looking at?
