They are my only boot right now, so yes, I kinda have to like them.

Been following The Bearded Grump on IG/YouTube for some tips on how to keep them quieter at the hinge. Silicone lasts for a couple weeks, but I hear white lithium grease will last a couple months. I dont care about the squeaks anyways. But yes, I like them. I think they are true to size. I was able to try on a pair of Tech 7 (non drystar) before I bought mine. Im size 13, and I have enough room for thicker socks during the colder months. Summer socks, i have a little extra room. I guess its better than being too tight. I switched to these after reading so many articles about Adv boots not having enough protection. I am low-key looking for another boot that I can use to go down the road to get lunch, and I wont have to strap these up.

a good time ago! that white drz of my buddies is now long gone and lives in Kentucky! he now rides a wr250r which he likes for trails and the fuel injection but said the drz was a better overall bike for what he does.

I'm a 12/13 as well so good feedback.

I really like my Asolos, and they're a sturdy boot with lots of special forces and alpinist pedigree so they hold up well for more casual riding attire. Give them a look at REI, etc.

Wax on, wax off. Gotta build the basics up first. Those full lock slow speed turns are killer and boring but so helpful when you're crawling through rocks on a 500lb bike.

I got lucky and I think paid $65 for a six hour class with Shawn Thomas, a BMW brand ambassador and all around great dude. Lunch was included and they did some tire changing demos during it. It was a lot of slow speed, turning, and clutch work but it was great in my opinion.

@Gunshot-6A looks like these guys are Touratech's official trainers, might be a fairly reputable company right by you..

The guy "teaching" mine was a BMW MOA instructor at some point. Payment was a beer. He said I did surprisingly well.

How many of you guys were late in life learners? I have no doubt I have what would be considered bad habits I picked up from when I started at 5 .....but it works :D

Hell, I'd like to take a class just to learn better habits.

I'm pretty late to the party....later than most of you I think. Always wanted a motorcycle since I was a kid, but parents, finances, and life kept me from getting on one until 2021. Never should have taken so long.

I took the supermoto class to learn more and prepare for the track (which kinda sparked my interest in dirt)...now track riding to keep progressing and looking into maybe doing a track school this year. And as mentioned, looking into a dirt class because everyone says dirt skills translate very well to street.

My folks are great and the reason for my addiction  I can still remember that Christmas learning to ride the little 50R in the hallway and then throwing on my coveralls and hitting the yard. I already had an 8 track in my backyard for the go-kart

This. Wheelies and log hops are by no means "beginner" adv skills on a bike so damn big.

I am/was kinda. I had a dirtbike when I was like 14-15 but never got good nor did I have anyone really teach me. Not to mentions bars back then would bend on a single drop so it was tough to afford fixing the bike. I got my first street bike at 19 and did street from 19-34 before my son was born. Now I am back in dirt and reallly putting in the hours to get faster/better, I am leaps and bounds a better rider than I was as a kid and I had a lot of street habits I needed to break.

My Z50 and XR80 had bent bars......I just rode it like that  I never changed any bars until I went to a YZ125.....then it really went downhill from there  Gawd I miss that 2 smoke powerband

Lol jealous. My dad wasn't so much against them, he has his own 2001 Yamaha V-Star. That said, he never was and still isn't exactly an avid rider...his bike only has about 3k miles on it :bananadead:

My mom however was staunchly against it. I can still hear her saying "over my dead body" lmao

My mom probably wasn't for it, but she didn't keep me from it. To this day(I'm 45), she still tells me to be careful on the bike and would be happy if I didn't have one
Funny thing, my dad never rode......that I know of.

That's about how my mom is now. Though she definitely appreciates that I can run errands or deliver docs/checks for her without having to factor in traffic lol.

Bit of a moody weather day here in Tahoe today, did ~150 mi of riding and visiting family in the area.

Tomorrow looks to be warm n sunny. 380ish mi of riding planned ... Alllllllllll Twisties.... I'ma be SOOOORE N TIRED. (I have a few points where I can "exit" my route and do much easier straight roads back to the place I'm staying if I feel too fatigued to continue the crazy twisties)

I think you are hung up on phrasing. It's not like "max" is a special option or offer. There is no such thing as "max" that you would have heard of. When I said max I just meant that I told Progressive I wanted the highest coverage they offer. So far as I know, every state and every provider has different options of coverage.

On my truck with progressive, I have a named price. I wonder if you can do that with bikes.

I just added all of my aftermarket stuff together (msrp). Ended up being about $140 per month. I also have other coverages too, but id need to look that up. I think its like 100/300/100
