Hey all, hope everyone’s doing alright. I have a 2018 Tacoma which I previously lifted 2 inches using some 887 Springs and an Icon AAL. I already threw a clamshell bushing in (Yukon) back when I did the lift originally. I have 255/80/R17 Toyo AT3s’. I’m on stock UCAS, which to my understanding is already maxing out my caster. I’d like to get a better alignment stability wise. Also, my rear springs are pieced together and squeaking, and I feel like a new leaf pack would benefit me. I’m looking at some OME Dakar springs: https://www.extremeterrain.com/old-man-emu-tacoma-dakar-rear-leaf-spring-for-275-in-lift-el095r.html

They’re supposed supped to provide me with around 2.75”, and I figured I would need to add something in the front to account for it: https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/store/p30/HS_1/2"_Top_Plate_Spacers_-_TT05512-TPS.html

also, I am looking at some JBA STD Ucas’s because I absolutely love the look and have heard great things about them.

In terms of doing it right, is there anything else I need. I don’t believe my CV’s would be rubbing at this height. Would I need anything else like stainless brake lines or anything like that? Not doing any wheeling or anything, wondering if they could wait a while.

I have a carrier bearing drop I’m going to put in once done.

Also if I’m noticing some lean on the front end, could I add a taco lean spacer with the front spacer. I know they’re spacers, but I don’t really thing there’s any other way of getting a little extra height. They’re also not really supposed to affect ride quality so I’ve heard.

Any inputs? Let me know what you guys think or do. Thanks all!

    Enough for now
Don’t stack spacers on spacers. The leaf pack should work great and a little rake isn’t bad especially once you tow or load the back with stuff.

you don’t need new brake lines especially if you aren’t wheeling.

JBA UCAs should be good but look into SPC UCAs as they can be more adjustable

Thanks. I figured stacking them would be a little weird. Do most taco owners even compensate for this lean or just live with it? It’s definitely noticeable but I guess not a deal breaker.

SPC’s more adjustable meaning more caster adjustment or in a different regard?

I’ve never noticed the lean at all, depends on the truck I think.

SPCs have settings for caster in the instructions. A lot of guys run then and combined with adjusting the LCA help prevent rubbing

Many people add a 1/4" spacer on top of non-extended length coilovers (under 22" extended length) to correct drivers side lean. Those with adjustable coilovers raise the drivers side height extra.

You'd probably.have to buy 2 sets, but you could use a taller spacer for the drivers side and shorter one for the passenger side.

Bite the bullet, like everyone says buy once and cry once.

    1. Get a one piece drive shaft
    2. Get custom made Alcan Leafs they don't cost that much more
    3. To get your alignment the way you want it go with SPC adjustable UCA's, BUT make sure you have a legit alignment shop near by!!! If the shop uses a computerized machine to try to do an alignment on on a modified suspension, RUN!

On my 2nd gen to get it right I had to run 4.5deg castor on my 3rd Gen I'm running about 6.5deg

If you go more than about 2.5 inches of lift with your coils and your shocks extended length is maxed at at 22 inches, you will need to add at least a 1 inch spacer on top of the coilovers or else you will have almost no down travel

Joseph, I have not seen a coilover for Tacoma longer than 22.5". I would say that a 23+" coilover/spacer setup has a much more serious overcompression risk problem, than a downtravel problem, which basically goes to ride quality.
Extended travel creates downtravel, not any more uptravel.
