Nah. Not my thing. The only other bike style that would interest me would be something like a small enduro like the TW200 for something like a little camp bike. I really don't want to pay for another bike, though.

Insurance varies by state, even with the same provider.

I put on a new rear tire (Michelin Road 6 again) and new brake pads front and rear (though the fronts were still probably 50% left) and wow, the bike feels so good. It's amazing how much you don't realize the bike's characteristics change when the tire starts to square off but it's a night and day difference with the new tire on. Brakes also feel great, just got back from bedding them in with some hard stops from ~50 mph.

This reminds me that I need to look into replacing the tires on mine. They are the original tires from 2019 and could use it.

I tried riding the KTM to work last week with everything in my backpack. I decided to drive after that. :D

If you're planning on sticking to the street (which I don't think you are), I'd recommend the Road 6. I got 8,864 miles out of the last tire, and I ride with a lot of cargo or two up. I could have gotten over 9k miles but decided to change the tire while doing the pads.

At a minimum any ride I do will be 2 miles on a crappy road (i live on it) so they have to be able to handle that readily. After eating shit on my cruiser on pure street tires I don't think I'll put them on this bike. Likely some Dunlop Trailmax Mission tires as they are supposed to be quite good on pavement, but will handle the minor dirt/trail riding I need.

I've done gravel and fire roads on the S10 with the Road 6's and it was doable but not fun. I agree and would probably go with some sort of 80/20 tire if you need to go up/down your road every day.

Yeah, if it were paved I'd probably go full street and avoid dirt, but it's also kinda nice to have the option. I don't want to be coming home after a long day (riding or work) and have the last mile be crappy road on tires that are "not fun" for the situation. I appreciate the info.

That guy I low balled a month or so ago just got desperate enough.. I think he was the 2019 Vitpilen with 600 miles and a fresh service. ( I lowballed two guys and don't remember which was which and don't want to open it yet, don't want it to have the read receipt until I'm ready to respond, can't seem too desperate haha)

    IMG_0539.png

Edit: I told him no. I can't in good conscience do it, not with the kid and lack of time and trying to buy a house someday. Plus, someday I'll like to actually sell most of the current stable and buy a larger sports tourer. Oh well. In case anyone else is interested, he's in central WA lol.

The Mitas E07 I put on my 750GS were pretty good all around as are the Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR on the Tuareg.

Damn, you have great self control haha. I saw a Subaru Forester listed in early April and told myself “man if that was $2k cheaper I’d do it”. And then two months later he dropped the price $2k and I had to go buy it haha.

I've heard mixed reviews on the E07 but I guess they did a compound change to the E07+ that might be why? Were yours the plus ones or the older ones?

I think I had an E07+ front and a Dakar rear.

 I get it, see navi and grom purchases haha.

If I didn’t have a kid I’d have gotten it, changed my priorities overnight though and I feel like I need to be a bit more responsible these days :pout:

Maybe I should have kids so I stop being so irresponsible. :boink:

Yeah, the only difference between full coverage and liability is that full coverage also covers you and your vehicle, but if the limits are low it's not doing much for you. I looked at Missouri's minimum coverage and it's 25K per person/50K per accident. If you wreck out on a bike and get an ambulance ride to the ER, that 25K they cover you with is gone before you even get to your hospital room.
