Speedometer not working

    Would help to know the specs of your truck (year, engine size, transmission type, etc) and a few more details about the problem (when did it start, any warning lights on, codes, etc)...

    I believe speedo on 2nd gens is driven by the ABS sensors in the wheels.

    (I did not have to recalibrate after my recent diff gear change)

    05-11 with a manual trans have a Vehicle Speed Sensor, all 2nd gen autos and 12-15 manuals use the rear ABS sensors that's why I asked for the vehicle details so we know what we're dealing with.

    Well if the speedometer doesn't work then a P0500 is going to be a given other than the off chance only the needle is dead.

    I bought the truck wrecked and it was hit hard in the rear and it is on a fra.e rack and I do know that one of the speed sensors was cut and I spliced it but still no speed odometer, 2012 2.7 manual 4x4 access cab sr5

    You need at least one of the rear speed sensors to be working for the speedometer to work.

    Do you have a scan tool that can talk to the ABS module and see what code(s) you have and see what the wheel speeds are doing?
