Hey tacomaworld, I've been lurking for a year now, learning as much as I can and being entertained by the banter in here. Finally figured i'd join and share my tacoma experiences, interact with people and learn more. I'm on Vancouver Island BC Canada, and will be using my tacoma for hauling dirtbikes/finding great camping spots.

Been driving suzuki sidekicks/trackers/vitaras most of my life. Wanted a truck, but am so used to small vehicles+I always dreamed of a nice tacoma, so I Bought a 23 TRD Pro in White last August. It's been pretty awesome.
Originally was buying used, but the used market was so expensive I decided to buy new. Got the automatic because driving standard got tiresome and the transmissions these days shift way smoother than I can. The truck drives and looks great, the plastic trim rattles in the cab and the factory cameras look like my laptop webcam from 2007, but I know I'm not going to get stranded in the bush so it's worth it.

I've bought a lot of mods I will be installing. The tacoma fever is real, I bought so much stuff I probably don't need, but it has been a dream of mine to own a decked out Taco. Yolo am i right?

Heres my beloved truck, I named it Vessel, after the frontman of my fav band Sleep Token who wears a white mask and black clothes.
I'll post a build/progress thread in the 3rd gen sub as I install my mods and share any useful info I can.

    Nice Truck! And Welcome.

I'm still a lurker, but I'm fixing to start my build thread soon, when I have some spare time.

Nah, it's basically just some extra structural support.

It's just for looks and I'm a sucker for it. Probably would have got an Offroad but I love the faux scoop. I kick myself cause I want to rip the pro suspension out anyways for more proper lift.. $_$.. I've seen some people put small lightbars in the hood scoop though, which I may end up doing just for shits n gigs.

In your opinion do you think it's possible to make it functional?

I know a guy who would like to know if it's possible to drill a few holes through the hood-scoop plastic so it can become functional?
Just asking for a friend.

    Gorgeous truck

As far as the hood scoops theres not much function to be had by opening them up. If Toyota engineers had seen any benefit they would likely come that way or as an option
    on the option

But its a mod happy crowd, I'd bet money someone has done it:D Dig the mini light bar idea
