Looking at a 2020 TRD Tacoma with a Snorkel? I know nothing about a Snorkel

I have an offer for a 2020 Tacoma with about 60k miles on it that has a Safari Snorkel installed. They're offering me 35,400 which sounds like a damn good deal, but does the Snorkel make the car any less reliable?

I know it's basically a hole in the side of the fender, but I know nothing about Snorkels on trucks.

More off-road. Much overland. So rugged.

PS I have a snorkel. Great for dusty trails. Don’t even begin to picture it actually protecting your drivetrain from extended water crossings. Way too many electronics that will fry long before you hydro lock.
I’ve had snorkels on all my SUVs prior to the Tacoma and it does not affect longevity of the engine.

As long as it was installed correctly, no it won't make the truck any less reliable.
I would first investigate- is this a Pro with the factory installed snorkel, or was it added aftermarket? IF it is aftermarket, I would look for other modifications. Not all aftermarket items are bad,,, but not all driveway wrench benders are good.
I would have any used vehicle thoroughly checked over by an independent shop, but especially with aftermarket doodads,, I am extremely skeptical of work by the unskilled.

I gotmy 2020 trd pro for cheap because it had a trd desert air intake and sat on the dealers lot for a while. Doesnt bother me one way or the other. Their loss was my gain. People do ask about it allot tho01C9FED8-A2CC-45E4-9B98-8CF06DA8A30E.jpg

Just to reply here, it's a 2020 Tacoma TRD Offroad with a Safari Snorkel installed, I don't see any other aftermarket parts. They're offering me $34,500 for it and it has 63,300 miles on it
