I'm very excited to have finally purchased another Tacoma.

The year was 2000 and I drove a friends' 1st Gen Tacoma which I believe was a 1998 or 99. I loved it. I was only 19. 3 years later I would purchase my first new green (imperial jade mica) Double Cab 4x4. I believe it had the SR5 Package. I drove that truck from Virginia to Southern California in early 2004. I drove that truck from San Diego, CA to the Muir Woods north of San Francisco late Summer 2004 and even slept in the bed of the truck one night and woke surrounded by many, what appeared to be, albino deer. I would then drive that same truck from L.A. back to Virginia in November of that same year.

Two years later I was back in Virginia and at the same dealership I traded my '03 for a new 2005 radiant red Double Cab 4x4. Two years after that my job required me to drive so much that the gas mileage was crushing my wallet so I traded it in for a more gas friendly boring sedan.

Well, 17 years later... I found a very lightly used 2022 white TRD Off Road with only 6k miles on it that had a fair amount of Toyota accessories already added. I found it at a local Ford dealership and was able to negotiate with them for a week to get it down to $300 below original price (MSRP + optional equipment). It looked brand new inside, outside, and even underneath. I wasn't sure if the TRD Off Road was going to be too much, but I couldn't pass up the condition and the price. There's a good chance I never use its Off Road options, but that's okay.

I have a 3 year old son and an 18 month old son and I hope this truck lasts long enough for them to drive one day. I think it's possible!

    Let the adventures begin again!
