I've found quite a few ticks myself this year. It has been really wet this year and ants have also been a real issue for me. Last month I found some under my nightstand in my bedroom. Pesky little bastard are unrelenting. Yesterday I found some uninvited squatters in my window. So I mixed up another Borax snack for them. After surveying around the house I also found them outside the house, but in the brickwork on the front porch and back deck.

Today there are only a few ants left stumbling around the window. I'm going to take a more aggressive approach against those in the yard around the house. So I'm less likely to find them trying to move in with me.

    Correlation does not imply causation.

Taking my kid in for his 2 month checkup didn't give him CF.

Im sorry to hear that I wasn't aware. Generally I would agree with you, as we are talking apples and oranges here. But Seresto collars have been the subject of congressional oversight hearings and an investigation by the Office of Inspector General..in 2023 the EPA said they have to have a side effect label clearly printed on the box, as before they did not...

They keep talking about ticks around here, but I've never seen one. This was the first year I gave in to the fear and sprayed my turkey stuff with permethrin.

Just finished a little "light" tree trimming on the south side of the pond, totally unprotected.

Mal had 1 crawling up her leg the other day I thought she was going to have a fit. Had to sit down in the middle of the walk in the road and pulled it off herself making a bitey face:rofl:.

I missed the fresh bearskin rug this morning. Was headed into town for a MRI no time to stop and pick it up.

I think it's funny that for the past few years the news has been warning everyone around here about these deadly ticks.

We've also been bombarded with wild hog propaganda for the past 8 or 9 years. I would say i spend more time in the woods than a lot of people, and I've never seen so much as a track.

I’d be surprised if you don’t have them, but I’m not too surprised you haven’t seen them. My last home was only 4 miles from my current house. I never saw a tick over there, but I have burned 20+ ticks every year since I moved here. Being that northern states like Michigan have lots of ticks, it is not to far fetched that Canada would have them too.

Early in to support a launch a couple of you guys might've heard of Boeings Starliner crewed launch headed for the space station this morning at 10:52. It's a heavily criticized program due to it's delays but hopefully this morning it all turns around. I've spent a ton of time working around the capsule the last 3 years.

Godspeed to Suni and Butch… Good luck to y’all supporting the launch :oldglory:

Unrelated, I hate f-ing ticks. The warmer winters aren’t killing them off like the used to around these parts and they’re horrible and dangerous.
A friend’s been struggling with Lymes disease for years, all sorts of waxing and waning neurological symptoms.
We tick check every time we do yard work now. Finding the big wood ticks is easy, the tiny deer ticks are a completely different game.
Last summer we were talking with our neighbbor (not the jerk claiming the ROW) who works at the local hospital. Said a couple trauma cases came into the ER involving a convertible hitting a moose. Both the driver and passenger were covered in ticks from the moose. He said I looked like I was going to puke… Fuunny, I’m feeling a bit queasy just writing this

So, good morning everyone I hope you and yours have a tick-free Wednesday and every day hence forth. :hattip:

A Tesla had drilled an alligator in the road this morning. Gator was big boy, 8ft +looked to be dead. Concrete truck driver ahead of me hops out, drags it outta the way, he gone. Gutsy move big fella.

    Also happy Creedmoor day, @six5crèéd...
