We have a stacked washer drier in a small laundry room. The floor is ceramic tile. The feet of the bottom of the unit need something under them to quiet the vibration noise. I bought some pads for that purpose today. The problem is getting them under the legs.

I can lean it back and get them under the front legs no problem. But how do I get them under the back legs? I can lean it forward, but how can I then get them under it and to the back and in the right place? I can slide the thing out into the hall but if I put the pads on it there, I can not slide it back in.

Any suggestions on how I can essentially lift it straight up in place? Is there a simple lifting tool that I am unaware of?

    Thanks

Use a hand truck to tilt it and pull it out. Glue pads on the back. Tilt and put back without dragging. Now do the front.

Alternatively, ditch the pads and put the whole thing on a cheap anti-fatigue mat.

I got a few ideas. But they all have a high potential for someone getting the shit smashed out of their hands and arms.

    Risk vs. reward.....

One involuntary muscle twitch and that will be the subject of conversation on every birthday, mother's day, argument, and general bad mood for the next 15 years minimum.

Try to complain about a dish in the sink in the year 2038? You're goin hear about the time you dropped the washer.

The biggest issue is, we aren't dumb enough to figure this out.
    We're over thinking it.

I got a few dumb ass friends I keep around just for these occasions.

    I'm one of those guys.
Because I'm not getting an appliance dolly that I don't have.....

I'll either fix a small problem, or create a big problem.
Step aside, get out your cameras. You're fixing to watch something fantastic or disastrous.
    Either way.....It's happening.

Have you ever dropped your keys on the floor and then spent a good two minutes calculating the least painful strategy for retrieving them?

Yeah. I'm one of those guys too. :anonymous:

Go to your locally owned independent forklift or hvac dealership, say, "hey, I need to lift this stupid washing machine for 20 minutes, can I borrow a hand truck?" Leave them a $50 as a collateral so that you likely won't steal it. Solve your issue in an hour and move on with life

We keep some grabbers on the couch because the 11lb weenie dog loves to absolutely fling his toys across the room and more often than not they land in that one corner behind the couch you can't reach.
