dumb question alert but I'm a little stuck on the rear shackle here. Can someone show a picture of their leafs installed, or tell me which end the shackle goes on? I don't know jack, but I'm trying to get these 90-297HD installed.

General Springs customer service told me the longer portion of the springs would face the rear. So I measured and the end with the curled leaf measured to be slightly longer. So I mounted shackle on that end of the leaf spring and the shackle is rubbing the curled portion of the leaf. Still has ability to move but its showing a mark.

Could anyone please help me understand if shackle clearance is the problem, or if I've measured the leafs wrong and I need to flip the shackle to the other end of the leaf?

I just installed these recently on my 2012. I'm not at my truck right now, but I wanna say the end with the 2 clamps is the rear. The front only has 1. Once you get it in there and some weight on it I think you'll be fine.

Are you you refering to the shackle when you say two clamps? I am sure the shackle goes in the rear, I'm just unsure which end of the leaf spring I should mount the shackle to. If you get a chance, check if that curl is by your shackle (like my picture) or by your front mount. That would be super helpful.

No, the clamps that keep your springs from fanning out like in this pic. And I was incorrect...the end with one clamps faces rearward.20240605_144223.jpg

So your curl is in the front. I just need to flip my shackle to the other end, then I should be in business. I appreciate the response man!

PS: I think GS customer service was correct about measuring the springs to figure this out. But I must have measured wrong and curvature messed me up. Lifes hard when your r3trded like me.

20240526_175847.jpg No problem! Sorry it took a while, I was just finishing up at work. One of the two clamps on the front end of the spring actually has a tapped hole for your emergency brake. I ended up with about 2" of lift, so I went full r3tard and rebuilt the entire front end with 2" leveling struts. I like the way it sits now!

Nice, truck looks good! Hoping I get about the same in the rear when I get done with these. Then I could remove my 2" blocks from back there.
