Hello, the belt on my tacoma with the 1gr-fe recently broke so I decided to change the tensioner and all the pulleys.

Everything seems routed right like in the diagram but im a bit worried about the upper pulley close to the alternator the belt seems to bend a bit and then correct itself; is this how is supposed to be?

Edit: forgot to say that there was a small squeal on the belt when it was running but it went away.

I don't have the diagram in front of me, but just triple-check your routing as compared to the diagram. I changed my belt a while back, and even though it *looked* like it made sense and everything worked, it was in fact routed incorrectly, and not allowing the tensioner to properly tension it (was too loose). The squealing you mentioned makes me think it could be a similar situation. Mine didn't start squealing till a day or two later on a cold wet morning, and destroyed the new belt. Made absolutely sure the NEW-new belt was routed per the diagram and haven't had an issue in the past 70k ish miles or so.

Interesting, I double checked the routing when installing it so it looks like in this diagram; the only odd thing I see is the pulley I marked on it; idler 2 as you can see in the pictures it doesn't seems centered in the pulley

I would measure the original idler vs. the new one. Especially the indentation of where the bolt goes . Maybe the new one is different. That concave distance seems to be off a tad on the new idler.

I think that could be it, I was checking the part number I got from toyota, it was 16604-31010 I assume its old stock that is available in my country; the current number is 16604-0P011 wonder if there is really any difference or just a supersession number

Check that pulley in picture #6.
I replaced a few of mine last week and the replacements obviously didn't reuse the washer on the back of the pulley. It would have pushed the pulley too far forward, and I think it would have kept it from spinning.
That doesn't look right. Your routing looks fine, but that one idler looks like it's too far forward.

There was a washer on it but I installed it on the front where the bolt goes through; the new pulley didn't come with any; I did change the A/C compressor before I did the tensioner and 3 pulleys; I wonder if some of the components are not aligned correctly; I also got an old part number for the pulley so maybe its the wrong one.

Hello again, so indeed they sold me the wrong pulley, according to their system it worked but according to the USA catalog it wasn't the right one; they exchanged it and now there's a new problem; before the pulley was damaged the a/c system was changed; the a/c compressor works pretty good, since i swapped the pulleys for the new ones I decided to check everything, the compressor clutch is pretty hard to turn by hand so I suspect that the new compressor when it engages is damaging the belt due to the force it needs to spin it when the clutch engages.

Aditional to that I believe that the water pump may be going bad; with the correct pulleys the belt that goes from the alternator to the pulley then water pump has a bit of side to side movement.
