Those 255/80/17's look good on there man. I was worried about my SCS F5 17x8.5 being too wide for pizza cutters. You'll have to let us know what you think of them if you get them aired down off road sometime. I ultimately went with 285/75/17's, but I would consider a 255/80/17 my next go around. That's not too bad a weight either.

    Much appreciated!

Honestly I had the same concerns going with mounting a 255 on a 8.5. Even Klean was telling me just to do the 285s since the 255s might run a little narrow.

During my research, the only complaint of running the 255 on a 8.5 was that you're running at the limit of what most manufacturers recommend a 255 could fit on, assuming you're not trying to go with a hellaflush stretched tire setup. That said, the only complaint I found running this setup was that it seemed like if you aired down too low(we're talking in the low tens), the bead has more of a chance to pop off, but in my mind, that can happen to any tire if you're running extremely low PSIs.

Some impressions about the weight. I definitely notice the weight is there while driving in the city/traffic, but on the freeway, it seems to have barely made a hit. Time will only tell though.

Right on. And as far as off roading goes, I think it comes down to where you want to get the most benefit. So if they benefit you more overall in everyday use, and for most offroading situations, then I'd count that as a win. And in 17" variants, there are more options for all-terrain vs. 16" wheel options.

Yea, these tires are a huge win for me. I've read that the only times where the skinny's will suck offroad will be any time I need to be floating on top of the terrain. For example, Sand, deep snow and possibly mud (although I've read skinny's are also good for cutting into mud too). Things, I don't see my self wheeling on solo.

On the flip side, Tinkerer's video had pretty good data points showing that a skinny can deform better than non-skinny setups, so it should be quite interesting seeing how they perform in the real world.

Now with the Tacoma put together, it was time to take her out. No crazy wheeling going on, but will say. The truck drives like a dream.

Sporty on road, but comfortable. When carrying some speed offroad, it's smooth and not jarring.

The Pizza cutter setup is perfect. There is a little bit of difference in acceleration, but MPG's only took a slight hit going from 23.6mpg to 20.1mpg, based on the digital read out(yea it's not accurate, but i'll take it). Very happy with this setup.

Unfortunately got hit with the 24TA05 Recall so I took her to the dealership. An hour later, luckily my truck was not one of the affected ones.

    Road trip to Sedona, AZ.
Couldn't ask for a better truck.

On road manners are smooth and comfortable, even with E-loads. Even with the 33's, the pizza cutters have not taken a hit on MPG's too severely. Over the course of the drive, I was able to manage a shocking 20.4mpg.

Offroad, we were able to hit some maintained fire roads, crawling and hit the beach. I could bomb down fire roads at 70mphs with ease and feel comfortable doing so. Crawling, while I didn't do anything too extreme since I was solo, the truck handled the sedona's red rock perfectly fine. The only noticable problem was the beach, where the tires were clearly cutting into the sand. Nothing a little air down-ing wouldn't help with though.
