Hit me up if you have any questions. I’m LT front, doing SUA at the end of the summer.

Have you considered a link kit instead?

Yes, a ton of them. The fab work to do a good link kit is a significant amount — if you can do the labor yourself, you obviously offload that cost. Doing a 3-link + pan hard is fine, but you are going to get axle movement laterally through the range of motion, which is not optimal. Doing a 4 link is obviously more geometrically appealing, but now you get to move your fuel tank and do a fuel cell, which is a pain.

Also, if you are building a link kit, you probably want to start to have a serious conversation about robust frame reinforcement and an actual cage. The travel numbers from a link kit get you into the danger zone of fun that a truck with no cage is gonna hurt. SUA will get you less travel numbers for sure, but not *that* much less.

This is assuming you’re building a link kit for go-fast stuff. If you’re looking for crawling, there’s maybe more of an argument for it, but the fab work is still going to be a ton in comparison to a [nearly] bolt-on SUA option.

Here's another option for stock length LCA that moves the LBJ 1" as well and is about $250 cheaper. https://btffabrication.com/collections/toyota-1/products/15-21-tacoma-high-caster-lca

I'm running these along with a few other guys on here. IMO the JD Fab pivot is probably better all around and lets you keep your OEM LCAs which are pretty freaking stout. I just learned about the JD Fab kit too late.

I think the $250 difference is the uniball conversion

Has anyone been to hocking hills? Is it worth a stop if I’m going to be within an hour or two of it anyway?

The JD fab kit looks promising

Plenty of UCAs that'll move the ball joint for better caster

*Technically* with the sway bar removed, the stock suspension is mid travel....

Yeah I’m already running a Camburg uca which does greatly increase my caster but paired with an LCA that moves it as well it could be a really nice recipe.
