Hey guys going on a dispersed camping trip soon in Colorado, was wondering where some people have done dispersed camping in Colorado?

 

I'll just say its a big state with a lot of places. It would narrow it down if you posted a rough itenerary.

 

We are planning on going up to red feather area and around Roosevelt National Forest

 

Withers Canyon/Dinosaur Footprints Trailhead south of La Junta. Remote, just a few camping sites with fire rings and a vault toilet. Nice hike into Withers Canyon and dinosaur footprints some distance away. Have done it three times in November. Don't want to be there when it gets too hot. Bring your own firewood.
