Q1 Midsize truck report. I think we need to wait until at least Q1 of '25 to get a real sense of how the 4th gen is selling. If the website you linked is correct then April and May outsold Jan-Mar, meaning sales must be picking up at least a bit.

17k in sales sucks. I would expect it to be more like 30k. If it’s 17k in sales this month, heads are going to roll.

I would start with marketing. Their packaging and pricing strategy sucks. And they still haven’t published a fucking brochure with all of details, facts, etc.

I think most of the other brands stopped reporting monthly numbers several years ago. Now they only report quarterly numbers. Honda still reports monthly numbers and the Ridgeline had awful May 2024 numbers.

I see a lot of them around me, but trying to judge car sales by what you see on the road is the definition of delusion lol.

I feel like this is due to still low production numbers, there are a good deal of white SR5s around me but good luck finding a Limited, TRD Offroad, or a 4WD sport

I live near one of the biggest Toyota dealerships in Texas. And they can’t keep a Tacoma on the lot. Every one of them is sold before it arrives.

30k would be the best selling month, ever
20k is respectable, 25k is great

Yea, they’ve done 27 or 28k a few times. Busting 30k is going to be hard at the current price and interest rate levels.

I guess that means Toyota is going to fold.
They'll probably be bought out and dissolved by Ford.

Averaged 19.5k sold per month last year, so not that far off.

I wonder if any hybrids are on the road yet. Maybe June numbers will have some.

Still that's on 53k sold vs 95k at this time in 2023. Inventory seems to have caught up, but that's still only 85% of last May's and after a production drought. May is the biggest sales month annually as well. They gotta be feeling a demand crunch.

I think it depends heavily on region. But it would be great to see discounts or special financing rates.

    What dealership is that?

In Houston, I see a few on their lots. Fred Haas 45N has like 30 on their lot right now, along with probably over 100 tundras

Cedar Park, near Austin. They have plenty of SRs and a few Sports, but I’m mainly looking at OR and they routinely have 1 or 2 on the lot and 20 others “In build phase” with most of them being labeled “sale pending” before it arrives. Almost every OR is sold before it gets there, its been this way since they started arriving.
