Can someone please help. I really fucked up. I had a original code of P0022 "Camshaft Position "A" - Timing Over-Retarted (Bank 2). I Replaced VVT Solenoid which was on the passenger side or the truck according to my local parts store.

    Now I have codes:
P0343: Camshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit High Output (Bank 1 Or Single Sensor)
P0010: Camshaft Position "A" Actuator Circuit (Bank 1)

I have a feeling that I replaced the wrong VVT Solenoid in the wrong bank, and during the change I had my truck turned on with me not knowing, so I dont know if I messed up something electrical. If theres a fuse I could check could someone guide me.

If you had the key on and were unplugging stuff that probably set those codes.

Clear the codes and see if they come back.

    Parts store was wrong.
    Bank 2 is drivers side.

P0022 is for the Bank 2.

Parts counter guys are hit or miss. Some can be incredibly ignorant when it comes to automotive maintenance, others are a wealth of knowledge. You apparently got the former.

I just changed both sides and cleared the codes, and they never came back. Thanks

I had this same code appear on my 2005 Tacoma Prerunner 4.0 1GR engine. I first cleared the code and drove the vehicle a few days before it came back on. I did not change oil was this was probably the first thing I should have done. Once the code came back on again, I pulled the VVT Oil Solenoid. I cleaned it, put 12 volts to it to ensure it was working the inner sleeve back and forth and finally, did an olms test which was within standard. Just this after noon, a week later after the cleaning, the code appears again. I have cleared it and will change oil tomorrow morning and see if the code stays off. If it doesn't then I will replace it. The dearlership want $216 for the part. A-1 has a price of $55 for both sides but I am hesitant. Anyone purchased these sensors from A-1 with success?
