Nailed it. Adam Copeland, AKA Edge, has used it as his entrance music for many years now. Actually, that's how I first learned about them.

 

Only reason I went with that is wrestling seem to be the only TV shows that are tight with hard rock & metal. Have a couple buddies that watch the stuff. It's not my deal. The physical aspect of it can be kind of entertaining, but I can't stand goofy, over the top acting in anything. I dislike musicals for the exact same reason, lol. One of those buddies I mentioned tried to get me into it. Assumed I'd be more into it if it were live. Brought me to some deal that he explained was kind of like the minor leagues for wrestling when it was in town. Rings of...whatever. Think I was more entertained by the people in the audience. Some of those guys really get into that stuff.

 

I'll stab and say Ring of Honor is what you saw.

Can understand the acting part. Much like real acting, some are better at it than others for sure.

And definitely, some are as into it as football, baseball, all of that. I was a pretty diehard watcher from childhood till about age 30.

 

That was it. Was probably 9-10 years ago? The guy they seemed to be showcasing, I believe my buddy said went on to be the top dude in WWF after that. Seemed like kind of a smaller dude than you'd expect with initials in his stage name is all I remember about him. Kind of surprised me that he said he went on to be whatever champion. Think he said he left after a bit to try MMA. Which I do watch and I don't have a great memory of him doing it, but think he came in and was not real successful at it. Couple fights. Got wrecked. Not sure if he went back to wrestling or not.

Eh, these guys that were at that match were way more into it than most sports fans I've seen. A bit overinvested. Really seemed like there was some aspect of a mild crowd involvement. Taunting back & forth, etc. Was a bit odd. My buddy was pretty disappointed I didn't get into it at all, lol.

Hmmm, I'm thinking AJ Styles is that guy you saw. CM Punk was a guy that tried to do MMA quickly but I don't think he was in Ring of Honor though.

Wrestling is more interactive with fan signs, chanting, and such. It's gotten moreso in recent years versus when I was really into it. I went to a lot of shows with friends back then, but that group dissolving for different reasons plus my general boredom with the product changed that. I'll go see a local show, my wife used to work with a guy who wrestles and does promoting for it etc. More fun for me to spend $25 and sit front row at a local show than invest more time, money and whatnot going to a bigger show.

 

Love the lead singer. He also sings for Dirty Shirley with George Lynch.
