Tailgate is jammed, mulched this past weekend and had the bed full. I have a suspicion that a piece of mulch got stuck in the latch on the right hand side. The problem is I have a hard bed cover that I can’t get unlatched without the tailgate open. Is there any tips and tricks to get the bed cover or tailgate open without damaging either?

High pressure water directed into latch location?

Try having someone to push the tailgate inwards while you lift up the tailgate handle

Just poured hot water over it and jiggled the handle and it opened! Sure enough there was a piece of mulch lodged inside lol.
