This was a lie. I found the front spring I want to run long term at half-cost. So now I'm angling to get the rears ordered, both in the truck, and everything aligned within 2 weekends.

I had a blast. As far as the raffle went and the T-shirts, I guess. There were too many jeeps and sxs' tho.

Let me specify, they messed up pushing all the raffles to Saturday, then telling us to show up just to announce they were all on Saturday. The event flyers they gave us told us that already. As far as prizes go, they were all decent, but the big one was the tires, and none of our group got em. That's disappointing but not unexpected, it's a gamble. The Event T-shirts were super lame though. I ended up just buying a Windrock shirt that I liked at the general store. I might've got an event shirt had I known they were gonna sell them at $5 Sunday, but I think that was mostly because they had too many left over at the end.

Apparently that was part of the reason it attracted so few Toyotas. A couple guys I talked to suspected that the rebrand drove away Toyota diehards to attract the Jeeps and SxS guys, so the turnout was visibly lower than before because not enough Not-Toyotas showed up to offset the loss of Toyotas. What's worse is before the rebrand the Jeeps and SxS could still show up and it sounds like the rebrand came as a way to end those questions, despite Jeep Jamboree being the weekend right before. We'll see if ATR stays Appalachian Trail Rides or reverts to a Toyota focused event.

Either way, the mountain was fun when we were wheeling, and not towing unreliable rigs off the mountain or debating whether the blue trail groups should do blue trails.

He mentioned reverting some changes, but we'll see what all that entails.

I just wish people on the mountain would stop letting their kids play with the GMRS so I don't have to hear some kid on the mic for 10 minutes talking about daddy's jeep.

Cayleigh was about to turn my radio off it was so annoying lol and I didn't blame her. Plus we kept getting people talking in spanish, or really redneck guys talking about how much fuel they had and another group who's leader started with "Full transparency, I don't know where we are as these trails aren't matching my map." Ooof.

the best one was when those rzrs came up behind us and in the most southern accent "Man looks like a traffic jam up here. At least I'm behind a taco truck. I like taco trucks." Behind Jared's rig.

They'll probably announce something in the middle of the summer. I better get some brakes put on my damn trailer so I can safely (ish) tow the pig down there

I probably won't make it out, I've been playing pretty fast and loose with my time off since we got a bunch more on this contract, and I used up more than I thought.

Very good chance I'll be there again, this time with a better radio and hopefully a locker, minimum. I do love that mountain.

If you ain't cheating you ain't racing!

I also realized that 255/75R17 Jeep takeoff mud terrains are plentiful so I'm going to keep on the lookout for those to replace/supplement my 265/70R17 all terrains, cause last time I was on the mountain I was very traction limited

I bought some 295/70R17 (33s) jeep gladiator take off Falken M/Ts myself. $800 for a set of 5 at half tread on gladiator rims, sold the rims for $300. Basically $100 a tire at that point!
