I'm torn between the two different setups. I'm trying to keep my back bed as waterproof as possible, and I've had a Leer 100XR before, but the Leers still aren't out for our trucks. It was nice to have because I had my Frontrunner setup on top, but I've sold all of that. I've got quoted $4,449.47 OTD with sliding windoors, led lights, carpeted roof.

I've also been looking at the RetraxPro XR for a more simpler setup. It has the rails to add a rack on top. I was looking at the Yakima OverHaul HD Truck Rack W/HD Bars & Tonneau Adapter Kit. This setup would be around $3800. I guess the only thing that might be crappy about not having an enclosure is having the dog in the back. It's probably not a huge deal to not have that. It was just nice to have it during camping.

Does anyone have either setup or suggestions?

    new 4th gen
IMG_3853.jpg Ive got an ARE on order. had the same one on my 3rd gen. I used np1 a silicon caulking product to glue a 2"x 1/8"rubber strip across the front edge of the topper hanging over the front edge of my bed. Very easy mod, took like 30 min. that thing was 100% waterproof. gonna do the same thing. got the rubber and np1 at ace i think

From Leer: Thank you for reaching out to us. Our first models are scheduled to launch in July and August.

I've got a quote from a Leer dealer for an XR with one windoor for $2600.

I'll call tomorrow. I bit the bullet on a Retrax. We'll see how it works out. I'm hoping it will be the perfect height for my domestic cooler. If it doesn't work out, I guess I'll just list it and get a topper.

4th gen looking good.. like that color too, better than your 3rd gen.

What wheels and tire sizes did you run on your 3rd gen? They look like the real deal for some offroad fun.

The Leer 100XR will come painted, foldaway front window, headliner side sliders, 12 volt dome light and brake light all installed is $3150.00 here in Portland, OR. They didn't add the racks so that's probably another $400 installed. They didn't give me a release date. They just said it wouldn't be out for awhile.

I ordered a CX Classic, known at Action Trucks as the Contour IV.

    3200$ CAD, Leer was 3600$.
