I just got my tires balanced because the whole truck was vibrating when I was going 75 mph. Now the rest of the truck feels smooth, other than the steering wheel is shaking harder than before. Could it be as simple as I need to rotate my tires? It's been 2 oil change since they've been rotated. Or is my front end warn out? There is only 160k miles on the truck.

What kinda wheels? They match the hub bore or have an adapter? Spacers?

They could just be tires out of round (I've got one wildpeak that is)

Just feel in the steering wheel only or your seat?

Could be alot of things. If its not the wheels themselves and its only in the steering wheel, could be tie rods

They are 275/70r17 bfgoodrich ko2 on AE Alloy wheels. There is no adapters or spacers.

It is only on my steering wheel. It starts around 45-55 and goes away when I go faster.

OP, We’re you able to figure out what the cause of your steering wheel shake was?

    1) Sounds like either an improperly balanced wheel

    2) Bent rim

    3) Maybe improper inflation

    4) worn out tie rod ends.

    Recommend check in order of 3, 1, 2, 4

Clearly I'm not much of a lineal thinker.

My truck had a bad vibration on the highway and I did the ECGS bushing install and it appears to have cured it. The needle bearing was coming apart when I pulled it out and looked at it on the bench. I do have a 1.5" lift though.

Unlikely culprit, but worn sway bar bushings. They’re really easy to check.

If you have four wheel drive, go through same speeds in four wheel drive mode. If vibration mostly disappears, the needle bearing is likely worn out. You can get a new needle bearing (about $40), or replace with the ecgs bushing (about $70). Note, you don't want to drive in four wheel drive mode in hard dry surface unless you gonin straight line. Find a hard pack gravel rode if you can.
