Been a thing with Toyota (and other manufacturers) for a long time. My 3rd gen Taco and now 4th gen do it, my 21 4runner does it, my old GX460 did it, my buddies old 4runner and his current GX460 do it. Chances are good that they won't ever have a "fix" for it considering it has been a thing on multiple models for multiple generations at this point :notsure:

Don’t expect this to be a first year flaw. That new hood is light as hell. Same complaints with the new Grand Highlander, GX, etc., but lots of complaints over the years on 3rd gen’s doing the same thing. I noticed it on my 23 4Runner as well.

My 2011 4Runner did the same thing. Don't look at the hood while driving, just focus on traffic!

The vibration is occurring because Toyota failed to add enough sealant/adhesive between the hood skin and frame (I'm sure it's been mentioned before). Very noticeable on my previous 2nd gen. I added beads of 3M Autobody Sealant #8300 and it took care of the problem. Just be careful with color matching. Unfortunately, for the 2024, not as easy to remedy since the hood design incorporates 2 large sheets of aluminum. Hard to tell where they are bonded together.

    Maybe this would help.

That would explain why my car took so much damage during a hail storm last week and every other car at work looked untouched.

Mine vibrates a little bit at speed, about as much as I imagine the wind would cause it to. Maybe the OP needs to get a bug deflector to smooth out the air a little

I have seen this concern mentioned before, so today on my way home from an appointment, I was able to pay attention to the hood while on the interstate with little traffic and watch as I went from 60 to 70 to 80 and a little beyond. No vibration or fluttering. I have a '24 SR5 if it helps.

I don't know if I'd accept an answer of "they all do that" from the tech at the dealership, unless I test drove a couple more of them and saw it for myself. In that case, why do some of the 2024's not have the hood flutter issue?

My 3rd Gen came through a few rough hail storms unscathed. There’s too much aluminum on the 4th Gen for me to be confident of the same result. Here’s hoping for no hail ever again.

The hood only vibrates when the grill shutter is open and air is flowing under the hood...

I wouldn’t consider this a REAL issue just like the dealer didn’t.

Sometimes people just need to complain about something so they get to go to their dealer and feel special for 5 minutes.

And then the dealer has to come back and say “sorry sir 80 mph wind does that to everything”

People say the hood scoop on the Tacoma is fake but after owning one that is a Shaker Hood for sure!

I've owned precisely 87,000 vehicles in my long and painful life and the '24 Tacoma is the only one whose hood flutters like a butterfly on a spring day. :notsure:

edit - not that I'm taking it to the dealer; I'm pretty sure it's working as intended. I just wish they intended it to work better.

Can anyone here post a video of the hood vibration you are having? I haven't noticed anything on my OR, I'd appreciate seeing the issue to compare to mine.
