Does the napkin sparkle in the sunlight?

    Is it magnetic?

What reason would you think that it's shaving itself?

Your current evidence is probably going to be a hard sell. I think Blackstone is the oil testing company you seek. Good luck.

If that's off the dip stick then it's likely just the dip stick scraping the guide tube mine is notorious for that gave me a heart attack the first time I saw it.

That’s good to know then, I think I’ll still get it tested but warranty is running out and I guess I’m just getting paranoid lol

This. They don't care about what you 'think'. You need data if you want to argue about it.

I’ll look them up, thanks! I’m out to gather more evidence and also just reassure myself everything’s good

As mentioned, the stick can be deceiving. Check your filter and the oil out of the pan itself. Wouldn’t hurt to invest in a magnetic drain plug as well. I also personally would not go with 10k OCI’s as fuel dilution will totally destroy the anti-wear additives in the oil and your wear numbers will go up.

Blackstone labs. I know several motorcycle riders that use them, one being a Navy pilot who told me the US Navy uses them.

Dealers are not owned by toyota, they just sell toyota.
If the dealer finds a warranty issue, they will absolutely do the work as they get paid by toyota. But if they see something thats not going to pass through warranty, they wont do it as toyota can kick it back to them and then they have to pay for it.
I worked as a warranty admin for a VW dealer, we absolutely loved fighting with VW to get stupid things covered under warranty. But you have to pick your battles with the manufacturer.

    4 run, 2 don't
    Warranty doesn't work that way.

You can't just try to look for something that might seem off and just request it to get replaced, especially if it's about to end.

First new car I take it?

Nope, always do oil changes every 5,000 miles, front diff every 10, transfer and rear every 15, transmission flushed every 25 so far everything’s great I don’t even have the transmission issues everyone talks about, but the oil concerned me slightly I’ll send it in for testing just to be sure.

You bet! Always bought used, ran high mileage and dumped it in a year or two, this is my first new “keep it forever” truck

ATF every 25k is a total waste of time and money

Your biggest concern having a 2GR-FKS should be to keep an eye out for one of the 10000 common leaks known to this engine.

You're already at 60K miles on a 2023? Not unheard of, but surprising.

And as said above, warranty is not for the owner to pick out things that seem weird and then do a bunch of invasive work for free because of it. Warranty fixes a problem when a true problem arises. Be it noise, function, etc. Also as said above, check the filter, not the dipstick.

Test for peace of mind, but maybe Tundra’s recent drama has everyone seeing metal shavings everywhere we look these days.

I don’t agree with you on ATF. It’s for good reason that Aisin and many manufacturers recommend this type of interval. Aisin makes some of the best transmissions out there for longevity, and even without a filter, the key longevity is regular fluid exchanges. It should be a red flag that Toyota says one thing, but the actual manufacturer says something else…
