I have a 110ah AGM and Renogy 100W panel with PWM controller in my trailer. So far the solar has been sufficient enough to keep our heads above water, but by a couple weeks I'm down to 50-60 percent charge. Now that I have a Taco with +12v through the 7-pin I'd like to also charge from the vehicle while driving. My thoughts are since we try to keep it 6-8hrs between sites we should get a decent charge while driving despite it being essentially a trickle charger with the small gauge wiring.

My plan is to add a Redarc BCDC trailer charger to manage the charge while driving. My understanding is both charge controllers are just going to base their output off what they show the battery needs, so they should play nice together. Is this correct? Will it be fine running both chargers through one battery monitoring shunt? Will I need diodes to not back feed from one charge system to the other?
