Turned in my Rav4 for a Tacoma OR 2024. I need to get the spec sheet to list out the details but next on the block are.....

    ASAP
    a) 33 Tires
    b) Rock Sliders

    Under Research
    a) Topper
    b) Skid Plates

    Need to figure out
I need to document the MPG as it is. Want to see the impact of the things I do to it.

    Happy about:
1 - Dealer was cool. They did try their shenanigans but I asked them to stop else there was no purchase. They did make their money and I saved mine.

2 - The truck has the bar disconnect. In my short search, I had not see an OR trim with the disconnect and I wanted it.

    Un Happy about:
Not much on the unhappy list but I wanted a white truck but dont mind this "underground" color. The upgraded JBL sound system did not meet my expectations but thats OK. Underbelly "protection" is shit. The 31 tires are cute at best.

I missed my old 09 Tacoma soooo much and I am happy to be back in one. The Rav4 will be missed.... mostly because of the Gas Milage.

It's crazy that the rav4 had a bigger engine, times sure are changing. Enjoy the truck!

I wish I had held out for the swaybar disconnect. That's a really great truck. From what I've found 3rd and 4th gen bed dimensions are pretty much the same but 4th has the raised area on tailgate. You can go straight to 33s at stock height. Rims are harder to sell because bolt pattern is the same but hub bore is different than 3rd gen. Smaller I think. I am with you on the JBL system. It's good but not great. Looking into options for that really soon.

As I was considering purchasing a Tacoma, I was thinking "I need the swaybar disconnect but I have not seen any off road Tacoma with it." A the dealer called me and offered me a Tacoma with a discount, I was not too interested because the color was not white... in any case, I asked the sales rep to send me the truck description and there I saw the bar disconnect and that made me buy it. On the tire front... I love the fact that I can put 33s on with out having to do anything to the truck. The more I listen the the JBL system the more I get pissed off (yikes) because the package says "premium" and that shit is not a premium sound system... its just below average and worth crap... I ams still happy with the purchase. Maybe an amplifier can fix it...

back to the swaybar disconnect... you can add that feature, I imagine.

I keep hearing everyone talk trash about the jbl in the 4th gen’s, not any better than the 3rd gen’s, same or worse?

I can not tell you which one is better. I can tell you that the sound is clear but unimpressive. Not sure what the subwoofer is doing in the back because the base is nothing note worthy besides saying there is hardly any. I guess this could save your hearing buttttttttt when they say this is a premium sound package, I would have to say that is is a very basic sound system that will leave you very unimpressed and if you bought the truck with your money... it will be upsetting. I would say worthless.

I agree, clear, but unimpressive. This was the first time I treated myself and spent the money for the package and feel like I'm going to have to upgrade it. I saw on a FB Tacoma group a guy had put some sort of amplifier device in the glove box.
