It was a good day. Talked it over with Jared @crashngiggles and Chase @Chasespeed
Came to the realization that I don't need shims in the rear end. Installing them would cause vibrations. What I'm feeling is probably axle wrap upon take off.
It happens at 5 to 10 miles per hour (in reverse also). We did get the driver side shim installed in Jared's truck and I wired his license plate lights.

On the way back home I stopped at @CTSpruceMica house and visited with him and the Mrs.

I'll have to look into that. Definitely would be an easier install than the shims.

Honestly, a pair of matched batteries, be it, AGM, Lead acid, or Lithium ion, in series, with a stinger and a ground. Toss a tube of rod in the tools box, and call it good.
Might be a little difficult to start, but....

Either way, I'd stay with matched batteries. They tend to have different charge and draw characteristics.

As mentioned, try to keep the batteries the same type. I'm not sure about charging voltage on Lipo4 or Lithium, but if it is different than the AGM, you could over/under charge one or the other. That, and if the sitting voltage for either is different, the higher one will always discharge into the lower one constantly.

If you plan on only using them temporarily when welding, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Just don't keep them connected all the time.

So the reason I was preferring to use different batteries is I already have an agm and you are not supposed to use a new battery with an old battery (assuming normal isolater setup). And the depth of discharge is alot better for normal house battery tasks

Lithium would be on a dc-dc

I was thinking it might be time for some Dear John letters.

Putting some miles on the lift loaded. Liking the over all ride, doesn’t float as much loaded. Went up to just south of Burlington VT yesterday and now in the Ithica, NY area for the night. Minimal Highway, even found gravel once today.

Headed to the Smokey mountains, the long way. Got some music to go see and a while to get there. Plan to hit Nashville next Saturday on the way to a Music Festival in Kentucky the following weekend.
