OP- the truth is that forum members probably don’t know why the dealer hasn’t called you back. Really, the best place to get your answer is from your dealer. Ask them the same thing you asked in your first post.

 

Imagine cold calling a dealer, expecting them to give a total stranger dibs over the phone with no actual commitment at all and getting mad that they don't call back.

Tons of random people call dealerships asking about inventory, every day.

They're not going to take you seriously. And if you cry in person the way you do online, no one's going to want to deal with you.

 

But you better not call him entitled! It's the one's who put down deposits 300 days ago that are actually entitled, with their planning and foresight. What a bunch of jerks

 

What the fuck, calm down dude. People are giving you advice outside of the basic question you asked because they've seen these questions before and know how it goes. And like others have said, there is nothing that can guarantee you getting a specific model car ASAP (unless you or your dad worked for one of the distributors or something). Most things in life can't be guaranteed, which you may or may not have learned by now.

I guess we all just learned what kind of people are lining up to buy $70,000 Tacomas... I mean jesus christ it's a goddamn truck with red seats, not the holy grail.

Find a dealer you like and put a deposit down. You'll probably have to wait a while at this point. You could try multiple dealers and ask if they know how long their waitlists are and then get on the shortest one. The other option could be using an online broker who has access to multiple dealerships but I don't know how that would work.
