Have a third party shop do an inspection on it.

Also we flew out to see a car for the day, ate a bunch of food, flew back and had it shipped

I had a guy from Tennessee buy a car from me. I sent him any pictures he was asking for. Told me he would fly here to get it, and drove the car home.

Rookie mistake. A friend grew up there and hasn't been back, other to visit family, since.

A week ago I got the dreaded knock sensor code on my 2nd gen tacoma. The (only) good news is that it was rodents and insurance will cover the repair minus the deductible.

I'm in the Waltham area and there is a dealership in Watertown, but I was disappointed in there service when their they under filled my transmission after a fluid service which caused shifting problems and even the engine to die when I braked hard. Yes, I'm ashamed to admit I let them do it in the first place, but I was in a pinch.

Anyone know of a good repair shop or dealer that will do the job correctly? I have a long camping and fishing road trip to La Verendrye and Algonquin in Canada at the end of July. I considered doing it myself with the hope I can just repair the wire, but I'm worried about it turning into a can of worms given the age of the truck (2011 w/ 160k of new england driving).

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

It’s not very close to you but I have heard good things about McGee Toyota in Hanover. A couple people I know were happy with their frame replacements there. I’ve only been there myself to have my frame checked and coated as I try to do all work myself.

I appreciate the suggestion. I'm hoping I can find a solution a bit closer.

I also do most of the work myself so that I know it is done right. Someone sent me a note to connect with Nate at Chicos Sunoco in the Fresh Pond area. I've seen his shop and he has a good reputation. I'll probably swing by tomorrow and see what he says.

Boy do I got one for ya.

GF just closed on a house. Sellers went into the garage after inspection/before closing and removed 3x 220 outlets and 2x 110 outlets that were installed in the garage - outlets, boxes, wire, breakers, fittings on the subpanel, everything. Even put knockouts in the box and taped up the plastic seams where they pried out the nail-on outlet boxes.

First it was "there was a special digital outlet for the fancy cnc machine" and then it was "I didn't think the buyers would want any 220 out there".

Just breathtaking. Everyone to include seemingly the buyer's agent are just besides themselves, bewildered, other than the sellers themselves, who are I think finding out that whatever led to the decision to do this has just cost them a real serious expensive pain in the ass.
