Do you prefer nicks in your paint from road debris or not?

Keep them on to reduce the rainwater 'rooster tail' from the vehicle behind you.

The front flaps broke off my 2007 from use in 2010, they were in the way more than they helped. They dragged the ground on dirt roads and were weakened. The weight of ice and snow accumulation was just too much, and they just broke off.

I removed the rear flaps and never looked back. The truck is now 17 years old with 247,000 miles. It has a few nicks and scratches, but none are because there aren't any mudflaps on it. As long as your tires are inside the fenders you don't need mudflaps. If your tires poke outside the fenders, mudflaps don't help either. In that case you need fender flares to cover your tires.

Mudflaps are required in 2-3 states. The rest of us get along happily without them

I cut about 2" off my 2011 front ones because they tended to drag in road dips, rears were almost as bad those I just replaced with aftermarket.

I put Husky flaps on the front of my '14 - shorter and not so dorky as the originals. Cut the rears off just above the "4x4" lettering - works OK without the pinch point when reversing in an ugly spot. Thought I would get the shorter fronts a couple of times but..... still hanging in there.
