Last time I checked under the radiator cap the coolant appear orange like rust colored. As I’m in the process of flushing the system I noticed as it came out of the drain it was red/clear almost looking new. Why would it be orange at the top and red when drained?

Rust in the condensate vapor coating the top after vehicle was driven. once it cools it deposits on those surfaces.

Change on time to prevent corrosion. I just drained coolant on a car with 80k well maintained. The metal looks new inside.
