I've got a regular cab, so not a lot of room but I currently have the following:

    Complete Hand tool kit
    Flashlight (rechargable)
    Tactical Shovel
Blanket (Mexican Blanket used for bench seat cover)
    Tow Strap
    Fire Extinguisher
    Jack
    Cargo Straps (various)
    Work Gloves
Minimum half tank of gas (I won't park it without at least 1/2 tank and normally a full tank)
    First Aid kit
    Jumper Cables
    Spare Key
    $100 Cash
    OBD2 Code reader
    Registration and insurance
    Receiver and 2-inch trailer ball

And over the weekend I added a Smittybuilt NATO Jerrycan holder and a Wavian 20L NATO Spec Jerry Can for an additional 5 gallons of gasoline storage in the bed.

I likely need to keep some bottled drinking water in there too, but my garage space is not heated, so I can't do that year round.

Additionally I also carry toilet paper, a tiny backpacking propane stove, a pack of freeze dried food, can of chilli, water purifier, magnifying glass, set of gloves, sun tan lotion, bug spray, flint & steel, small carbon steel knife and I keep a Marine corp wool blanket hanging out on the back seat.

I like your organization. I wish my bin had one of those smaller organizers

how do you like the jerry can holder? I have a few Wavian jerry cans on hand. I'd like to carry one with me. Harbor Freight sells wavian jerry cans but they have the civilian style neck and not the proper nato style

Man reading what a lot of you are carrying on the daily it seems like I have to update a bunch of the things that I carry with me everyday! I feel like it's better to overprepare then to under prepare for certain situations and definitely looks like a lot of you are prepared for most scenarios! Love this thread for those who want to be ready for the unknown!

I like to prep for the three most common scenarios:

    • Flat Tire
    • Flat battery
    • clumsy ass.

Actually, let me rearrange that to most-to-least common:
    • Clumsy ass
    • Flat Battery
    • Flat Tire.
And because I hate operating a jack in the field, flat tire includes a method to patch and inflate.

Bandaids and ibuprofen are the most used item. fire extinguisher is the one item that has never been used, nor do I plan to. I just camp in tall grass a lot, so its nice to have.

2 flashlights and EXTRA batteries. Even if you use rechargeable flashlights have extra charged rechargeable batteries. Also carry a headlamp light with extra batteries. At night you absolutely positively need light.
I could list a thousand other things but all the suggestions here are pretty complete. You can’t carry it all , there’d be no room for other stuff. So decide on what you think the most important things are for daily travel then add or subtract depending on your adventure.
A break down, accident or other problem at night is the worst. That’s why I emphasizing light. That’s why you absolutely need plenty of light and need to be seen. I also carry road hazard flashing warning lights and a high visibility reflective safety vest. See and be seen.

Purchased Toyota Certified, with Vijay bumpers, additional lights, and Falken Wildpeaks on Fuel rims. Prev owner apparently painted the grill.
I carry a couple flashlights in the Taco, I EDC a Hank light and an O-light in my Leatherman holster. I bought a 6 pack of LED road flares for emergency road side lighting. I like these as they have a magnet, several different flash patterns, and a white light for task lighting as well.

I have 3 different Hi-Viz options: a vest, a short sleeve and a long sleeve shirt that I carry for work, along with a hard hat with a helmet light on it.

    minor tweaks
I started with a large plastic box in the front of the bed but I never cared for them, IMO they limit on how you can use the rest of the bed. I chose to give up the well between the wheels in order to gain a large platform above that. This is what I came up with.

It carries hand tools, compressor, jump box, jumper cables, wheel chocks, bottle jack, 4 way lug wrench, bow saw, axe, shovel, oil, serp belt, tow strap, tow chain shovel, bow saw and 50' of rope. The box is lockable.

I was able to move all the items normally carried under the back seat to this box along with the items I carried in the big Plano box and there's still some room left. The only thing I can't get into it is traction boards.
