Anybody get rid of the clutch start cancel to leave it on? Asking for a friend. Truth is I don’t want to mess with my new switch panel, and the button doesn’t want to fit.

Why would you get ride of this? My fj40 doesn’t have it, you can start it in gear and I like the 1980’s tech of a clutch start cancel switch in the Tacoma. It just works well.

I have had a car (Saab) and a bike (Ural) delivered from the factory with a live clutch. I converted my other bike to have a live clutch. There was over 250,000mi combined with all of those and never a single issue. I believe that most MTs in Europe have a live clutch also.

There was a thread around hear discussing shortcutting the CSC button, but nothing came of it.

One other way would be to short or open the lower clutch limit switch. The opposite of whatever it is now. I just don't know if that would affect anything else.

I want it on. Because I’ve always driven a manual, and the switch doesn’t fit the new panel. A3A76EA1-ED34-4A4E-ADB5-8506E631654B.jpg

I’m thinking I’m just gonna “click and stick it” up underneath. I mean that’s what I’m gonna try.

You can’t click it and stick it up under the dash. The switch resets off every time you turn off the truck. Can you just replace passage eject ?

The CSC button is the large size. The Eject looks like the standard small size.

It’s not the same size. The switch is really complex apparently.

Passenger eject is just an empty slot that I planned on using for the csc but now I don’t want to cut the panel to make it fit.

FWIW, I made a simple simple PnP harness for @BLtheP which shorts the clutch switch. And then can be removed if desired to loan out or for valet, just not sure fun to install / remove regularly.

Works great. Not too bad to remove and plug back in either, just mostly that it’s easy to forget to do so before taking it for service. I forgot when I took my truck to the dealer for warranty.
