What is a good over the ear Bluetooth headphone for elderly mom?

Mom’s 80 and she doesn’t hear well. She hates her hearing aids. When I talk to her on the phone she puts me on speaker phone and with the tv going and other distractions it’s a hassle for both of us. I’m looking for an over the ear headphones like Bose or Sony or whatever to get her. Not looking for ear buds. She won’t use them. They need to have a mic and pair with an iPhone 13. Noise cancelling is a plus so she can focus on the conversation or listen to a book on tape without distractions. Price is not an issue. Not too complicated with buttons or whatever because she’s old and controlling them with her phone is optimal. What say TW?

 

The absolute easiest will be AirPods Max but they’re so expensive for how she will use them.

the reason I say they’re the easiest is because they don’t have any buttons. Once you paid them to her phone, all she has to do is put them on and they just work. See the phone ringing? Put them on and hit answer.

I use an older iteration of these for work. Not as easy as the AirPods I guess, but they’re pretty easy. Loong battery life too.

I have these in black and LOVE them. They stay in place when biking or doing anything physical. They don't cover the ear making it possible to hear conversations and traffic when walking. The sound is conducted through your cheek bones. They are reasonably priced.

They don't show a price, but I paid about $110.

I'm completely deaf in my right ear and could be fitted with a bone anchored hearing aid. It's similar to a cochlear implant. Regular hearing aids won't work for my bad ear and I don't need them for my good ear. But the way these transmit sound through the bones works much better for me.

My wife lost an expensive set of Bose that fit inside the ear. They are around the house, or in the car somewhere and will eventually turn up. She bought a set of these to use until she finds her others and likes them just as well. They make a smaller Mini version for women, kids or those with smaller heads.

 

I'd give EPOS a close look. I evaluate and distribute headsets as part of my job & just got to try several sets at Infocomm last week. As a result we're going to grab a bunch to test. I was super impressed with their offerings in the noisy exhibition hall. They're a spinoff of Sennheiser & make headsets for ATC and critical communications - as well as stuff for the office.

The Poly Voyager Focus 2 recommended above is good people - I have one that I use quite a bit when I'm not using Shokz. The Polys have decent ANC and are really comfy. Dock is handy too.

 

Update I got her the Beats Pro headphones and she likes them but hardly uses them lol. Says she doesn’t like the drastic isolation change and can’t hear anything else like dad bitching in the next room…
