On the positive it could make your commute to work either really fun or really terrifying.

    So there!
The local hardware store that had 10,000 nut, bolts & ect closed :pout: so I got some SS Allen heads from Slowes.

This is the smallest & cheapest needle scaler at HF, $35 IIRC. I added the whip hose & reg-u-lator along with the clip to keep it on my belt.

    KIMG4074.jpg

Both the tool and the add ons work quite nicely.

Congrats!!! Love the look of new brakes

Do you think a needle scaler would open up a rusted trailer hitch? The angle 0f attack would get pretty shallow….

Do I drill a new hole here or buy a 7 pin extension? Lost trailer brakes on the camper this weekend because the 7 pin got pulled out. I’ve pulled trailers since driving, never had this happen. Drilling a new hole will get me 2 more inches of slack. I’m thinking I may do both.

It really shakes the heavy scale rust off well. A useful tool for a lot of things for not much money.

I'm assuming the coupler is in the closed position without a ball - usually some PB Blaster and convincing with a pry bar will get them open.

Now here is an interesting comparison of fuel pumps:

I don't think I'd drill a new hole in the receiver. Make up an extension for the plug would be safest.

Absolutely do not drill the draw bar.

I have never had the cable pull out either... o_O Something strange here.

The 7 pin from the camper does look short. Previous owner pulled it with a Jeep Wrangler, so they may have shortened it. Looking back on the few conversations I’ve had with them, wouldn’t surprise me one bit.

Coming back home with the camper, I was making right hand turns like a tractor trailer and all was fine!

There should be a junction box at the trailer end of the cord.

Just buy the 7 conductor cord the correct length you need and install a new plug.

If your RV plug is molded to the cord, then the PO shortened the cord at the junction box.

The non molded plugs work very well and are durable. You can get them at Walmart.

Pro tip: don't use the wire clamps in the plug. Install ring connectors on all the wires then screw down the connectors to the Plug posts. Much more durable and it makes it much easier to assemble.

No junction box, goes back into the frame. I think the may have shortened the plug on the vehicle side. I’ll check again tomorrow

If you do decide to do the job, this is what I always use anymore.

You can't even buy the wire for ad cheap as they sell the entire kit.
