Yes they suck. Always a mess and no way to store them without leaking grease all over the place.

    How about favorite weird/obscure tools?

I’ve really come to use the icon mini ratchet set at harbor freight. Paired with some 1/4” sockets, I’ve had to reach for the “real tool bag” about 2/3 less for these little odds and ends

I have a Caterpillar grease gun, thing works awesome. I'll grease the truck or zerks on the trailer hubs with a single towel and I don't wear gloves when I do auto work.
Absolutely, for the kind of money you're talking about, I'd even consider getting a lawyer involved.
Or, when it inevitably slips, you bust your knuckle on whatever steel or sharp corner is in the immediate path of travel. The only adjustable wrench I like is the 2' one I bought to remove the trailer ball. It's big enough so it doesn't slip off, it's an absolute unit of a wrench.
Wobble extensions FTMFW! By far my favorite 'less common' tool / accessory

Wobbles are awesome, you reminded me I need to get a 3/8" set. For my truck I use all 1/2" Stuff but this VW I bought that wont do.

Least favorite - Tube notcher - never ever works right due to my designs ( I like lots of bends) and I end up scrapping the tube and starting over and hand notching it

Favorite obscure - One of these alignment prybars. If your off by less than a full hole diameter you can shimmy it into place with ease. You do need to be careful around tapped holes

But the adjustable wrench doubles as a hammer when you can't find a real hammer! It has probably been used more as hammer than as a wrench!

My fate is with Nate...at Chicos. He knew exactly what I was dealing with and when I said the error code he replied, "Rats! It's most likely your wiring harness underneath the intake manifold" with a grin.

Said they've done quite a few of these over the years and it would take them the better part of a day to replace the wiring harness.

Will post on the end result.

Found out this morning that, as it turns out, dude did the same thing with the EV charger - they offered to transfer the charger w/ sale, GF declined, he took the outlet, box, conduit, wire, and breaker with him.

This has been added to the shitstorm and it doesn't look like any of the people who are responsible really want to have any accountability. GF was asked to "de-escalate". OK. Seller offers again to install a 220 himself as compensation. Lol.

GF's agent (who was also my agent) is an absolute gangsta and once this is resolved you bet your ass I'll be shouting him out. He worked with me through some real serious B.S. and is now jumping into this, after closing, with zero complaints and 100% support.

But how was the wine, this is important.

Pretty insane, but at least the realtor was on your side. So many in that situation would probably just want it over with as easily as possible.

I cannot believe people live that way in the first place. I'm not a neat freak but I clean the house every week. Garage is more catch as catch can but...

I know people who rent aren't as invested in the property perhaps but that's awful. Makes my head spin. Not mowing the lawn is one thing but trash, WTF.

My parents left the house they sold probably cleaner than they bought it new. I spent days there helping them mow the lawn right before the sale and clean the place out.

It does a lot of things in theory but does nothing well in reality.

Not a truck thing but my third hand for working on bikes. Much easier.

We used Copeland for over 20 years for service and also bought a bunch of cars from them. I also sent a lot of people there as well.

Anything involving paint. I hate painting, but during the multi year prep period for selling our house I did a shitload of it inside and out.

I think that the problem was that they had closed and the sellers were now just renters. Realtors and real estate attorneys always recommend against doing that sort of thing for precisely this reason. I know that the buyer was in a tough position, so I won't criticize their decision other than not demanding a huge security deposit to ensure that this sort of theft wouldn't happen.
