As long as you’re not buying three thousand dollar bottles I think you’re ok.

Yeah, I’m done with chasing crazy bottles, and I have some pretty special ones…. Tbh the only two bottles I’d like that this point are a Weller CYPB and single barrel, and even those are just to collect. But obviously I’m not gonna pay 500-1000 for either of them lol.

Ugh…. Tbh if I had the opportunity I’d have to really think about it…. I might, since I’ve never ever seen one.

liquor store GM passed along a sample of New Riff 8 year, and a JD12’s latest batch. Both are amazing! New Riff for $75 is fruit forward, nice proof without being harsh, beautiful nose. JD 12, is not much like the traditional JD banana and brown sugar notes. It’s very nuanced with more vanilla, and longer dark fruit notes than expected. Really smooth on the finish, but doesn’t linger like the flavor profile of New Riff. It’s a banger, if you can find it near MSRP

Friend of mine just visited New Riff and sampled the 8 year, said it was really good. Not available here.

Went to an allocated drop last Friday and there was so much drama. The way grown adults acted was baffling. So much whining, crying, and even physical threats. I was maybe 15-20th in line but somehow ended up around 40 after it all.

The boots bring it home, lol! Not a fan of TX, but hey, nice pic, and I appreciate some differing opinions. I'd be all in if they brought something a little more aged, with some more depth like Still Austin.

That kind of behavior is Brewzle-Based, lol! Too many Brewzle videos, and false expectations. I've got about 3 shops that I have networked really well, and they call me with nice drops. I actually get a lot more from FB groups trading/swapping, and maybe for some scheckles. For the most part, no one screws you.

I’ve got the Single Barrel…I only need the CYPB. And like you, I’d contemplated buying at a price I don’t really want to pay, as it’s pretty high on Unicorn Auction. The other 5 I have picked up at MSRP luckily.

Maybe one of these day’s I’ll hit a lottery again for the CYPB….in the meantime, the 5 are unopened until I do :)

How was that. I seen that bottle for $120 on Monday. I ended up getting the double wheat instead. But that was very tempting!
